Moving a loved one to a nursing home is a significant change, especially for children. This conversation is vital for their emotional well-being, helping them understand and empathize with the transition. By involving children in the decision-making process, even in small ways, families can strengthen bonds and demonstrate mutual respect. 👉 Learn more about supporting your child through this transition on our blog. https://lnkd.in/gC_uKA27

https://lnkd.in/gpTDEenH Whilst spending my last 20 years in Nursing, and more than 15 years in aged care, I often discuss with my Lifestyle officer and Pastoral care Officer on how to improve the current activities for our elderlies. There are a lot of amazing ideas which will improve our elder's interests. Things can start from song lists, movie lists, jokes, trivia, dancing, skits, different types of bingos, art and craft etc. These really require some talented lifestyle team, who are creative and happy spirits. But more so, I believe every aged care workers also need to learn how to make fun in life as part of our caring nature as well. However, it seems that all of us are bombarded with tonnes of documentation - Care Plans, creating an activity calendar, activity participation evaluation, activity evaluation etc. They are probably spending 50% of their work day purely for documentation. Now the 200 care minutes are more focused on the nurses, not much more funding is spent on the Lifestyle department growth or resources. No one seems to CARE about how they survive through this type of workload.

Motivational Monday: Going the Extra Mile Where Your Job Doesn't Require You To In every job or role we take on, there are often expectations and responsibilities clearly defined by our job descriptions. However, the true mark of success and fulfillment often lies beyond these boundaries. Going the extra mile, even when it's not required, can lead to personal growth, satisfaction, and recognition. Contributing to a Greater Cause: Sometimes, going the extra mile isn't about personal gain but about contributing to a greater cause. It could be about helping your community, making a positive impact, or supporting a cause you believe in. Remember, going the extra mile is a personal choice. It doesn’t mean overextending yourself or neglecting your well-being. It’s about finding a balance and using your discretionary effort to make a positive difference. So, this Monday, and every day, consider the opportunities to go beyond the norm and make your mark. As you set out into the week, consider what extra you can bring to your role, team, or community. By doing so, you not only enrich your own experience but also contribute to the success and growth of those around you. #motivationmonday
