I'm really tired of the guilt trip content One of the best disclaimers, that is not share enough: "Your mileage may vary". In other words, we are all different - find what works for you. So much content out there is guilt-driven: - If you aren't posting, you are ruining your business - If you aren't on marketplace, you will never scale - The #1 thing you are screwing up as a [persona] - You need to be optimizing for xyz - If you aren't outsourcing to AI, you will be obsolete I'm all for helpful content, but lets have some empathy. We are all busy. We have families and bills and quotas/KPIs. Advice that makes us feel like our already overworked lives are not enough... Not personally super motivating for me. So instead, I know I would appreciate a reframe: "Hey here is what is/isn't working for us. Your mileage may vary but just thought I would share in case it could help anyone." Its hard out here for folks. Lets be kind. And recognize that the beauty of a free market is the freedom of choice. So lets share without the guilt trip

Today, I read up about how AI can dramatically change the way we work. My father’s generation worked insane hours to support the family. Most households had a solitary earner. As a traveling salesman, he slept at odd hours, skipped meals, or ate on the go. He’d stay up late at night and manually fill out his trip sheets, sales and tallies. He’d do all the calculations mentally first, and then, with a calculator. He always held that calculators slowed him down. This was in the 70s through early 90s. We now have tools and applications to lessen many of the routine calculations. I so wish Dad had spreadsheets/Excel during his time. It would have made his life so much easier. Dad’s work stress and long hours, coupled with constant traveling and his stress buster (cigarettes) took a tremendous toll on his health. I sincerely believe we would have had him for at least 2 decades more, had he worked lesser and took better care of his health. We lost him when he was 59 (1994) Take care of your health, folks. Focus on what matters. Prioritize time AI and or other technology saves up for you for matters of health, family and well being. #wellbeing #priorities #worklifebalance

I wanted to share a YouTube video by the creator Struthless on doomscrolling because LinkedIn is a social media site and is not immune to the phenomena. I often catch myself growing weary as I read post after post about how the job market is broken, AI is creating greater income inequality, and we're all screwed. Our brains are hard wired to look for threats and calculate our odds of survival, and doomscrolling reinforces those fears... but often there are those who are quietly working to solve the problem. We shouldn't be blind to out issues — we absolutely should discuss them, but sometimes we need to stop talking about the problem and focus on building solutions.
