Leather, like your own skin, needs to be protected and moisturized over time. You can create a simple and inexpensive leather conditioner using natural baby soap, vinegar and water. Mix 2 cups of warm water, a tablespoon of natural baby soap and a splash of vinegar in a bowl (Image 1). Use a microfiber cloth to rub the conditioning mixture into the leather, making sure not to soak the area (Image 2). Moisten the leather and leave the conditioner on the furniture. Do your carpets or furniture have unexplained odors? 🤨 Accidents happen! Whatever the reason, before you drag out the shampooer, try these tips to banish those odors for good! 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐮𝐠𝐬: Sprinkle baking soda on dry carpets or rugs and let it sit for 30 minutes or so to absorb odors, then vacuum up. Or, spray a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water on the smelly area to kill bacteria and deodorize. 𝐔𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲, 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐮𝐠𝐬: Fill a spray bottle with the cheapest vodka you can buy (make sure it’s unflavored and colorless). Lightly mist fabric surfaces without saturating them, and the smells will evaporate as the vodka does. For a scent boost, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. This type of mold produces a characteristic white, fluffy rind that is responsible for the unique flavor and texture of these cheeses. However, the presence of Penicillium camemberti in nail material is unexpected and may be indicative of a contamination issue. It is possible that the mold spores found in the nail material could have originated from clothing, bedding, or other surfaces that came into contact with the cheese. However, it is also possible that the mold spores could have originated from the nails themselves. This could be the case if the nails were damaged or had cracks or fissures that allowed the spores to enter.
