Today we’re sharing more details about our Series B round, including more information about our investors, the market opportunity, and our approach to transforming cancer care. The US healthcare system is notoriously fragmented, leaving cancer patients woefully under-supported. Our model combines advanced technology with high-touch patient care to support the lifecycle of a member’s cancer journey. Powered by a team of nurse practitioners, oncology nurses, and resource specialists, Thyme Care helps members understand their diagnosis, proactively manage and address symptoms, and quickly connect them to care. This approach would not be possible unless we also worked in close collaboration with oncologists, primary care physicians, health plans, and other risk-bearing entities. We bring everyone together in a patient-centric model that enables us to drive value-based cancer care at scale. This approach, paired with our team of oncology, healthcare, and health policy experts, are what drew two new investors to our team Town Hall Ventures and Foresite Capital, alongside all of our current investors  a16z Bio + Health Frist Cressey Ventures Casdin Capital, LLC and AlleyCorp. Outcomes4Me, Labcorp, and Comcast NBCUniversal have partnered for a "#massmedia approach to reach the right #patients by engaging them directly with messaging to raise the profile of #biomarker testing, hoping to proactively engage #patients who could be at risk of being diagnosed with #cancer and jumpstart their care journeys." Although deaths from #cancer have declined 33% since 1991, more people are being diagnosed with #cancer than ever before, and at an earlier age, according to the American Cancer Society. Today in STAT it was reported that #gastroenterologists have noticed an increase in the incidence of #colorectalcancer in adults under the age of 50, and that #colorectalcancer has become the leading cause of #cancer deaths in #youngadults. #Breastcancer, #prostatecancer, #melanoma, and #kidneycancer have also been rising in recent years.

Pfizer and the American Cancer Society (ACS) have joined forces for a new $15 million initiative, "𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐝𝐝𝐬", aimed at addressing unequal access to cancer care. 🤝   🔑 One of the key strategies of this three-year initiative is to leverage the extensive networks of #ACS to bridge gaps and connect individuals with no- and low-cost screening services, treatment programs, and patient support programs for medically underserved communities across the United States.   📊 There has never been a more pressing need to address cancer care, with projections indicating that the disease will have a staggering 77% greater social cost by 2050.
