🇪🇸 Following the December update of Football Benchmark Intelligence’s valuation tool, Real Madrid CF holds the top spot among the most valuable squads in LaLiga with a total value of €1,364 million, reflecting a modest increase of €4 million. 📈 The standout performer in terms of squad value growth is FC Barcelona. Several players, including Pau Cubarsí (+€30.6 million) and Fermín López (+€20.8 million), have seen significant market value increases. Watching the #EURO24 game between Portugal and Slovenia, I was taken aback by the early substitution of Vitinha. Using SICS.sport event data, I visualized Portugal’s passing network up to that point (shoutout to Sports Data Campus mentors). The analysis showed that Vitinha (No 23) was the most active player offensively, leading in accurate passes (node size represents pass volume). His removal noticeably weakened Portugal’s offensive play. The graphic also highlights Ronaldo’s disconnect with his teammates and his tendency to drift left, as well as Bruno Fernandes’ struggle to influence the game offensively. The decision is solely a provisional measure, however it temporarily suspends the ‘Acuerdo de la Comisión de Seguimiento del Convenio de Coordinación RFEF-LaLiga’ and the cancellation of the players’ sports licenses.
