2moThis is a part of the statistical analysis that supports climate change. The urban temperature gauges that have been in place for decades are being impacted by the asphalt and other dark or mirrored surfaces. In addition, the rain events are calculated via statistics over the life of a USGS gauge when the 1890 gauges include just the large rain events, and the 2000's-gauge data include all of the rain events.
