CIE members, Fluctuo, a data specialist company focused on shared-mobility services (bikes, scooters, mopeds, cars) recently published its annual review. Notably, the report highlights a remarkable 54% increase in the usage of dockless bikes across Europe in 2023! 🚴♀️ 📈 Fluctuo's CEO, Julien Chamussy, attributes this growth to cities' preference for shared bicycle schemes, emphasizing their ease of adoption. This preference is due to cities already being used to bicycles and having infrastructure designed for them, such as designated parking zones and bike lanes. After an extensive selection process, the Fifteen Fusion electric bike was chosen for its comfort, manoeuvrability, and connectivity, which facilitates fleet management. The service relies on: - a fleet of 600 e-bikes 🚲⚡ - a system of 1,400 virtual stations 📍 where users collect and park the bikes via the Fifteen white labelled app Benoit Yameundjeu, Fifteen’s CEO 🗣️: ‘We are very proud that the world’s leading car manufacturer has chosen Fifteen. Intelligently combining car-sharing and bike-sharing also shows that cycling has strong growth potential and that shared mobility is capable of meeting all travel needs, in metropolises and less densely populated areas alike.’ KINTO’s bike-sharing service in Copenhagen is Fifteen’s second in the Nordic countries. 2023 was a busy year for Bolt micromobility operations in Ireland and whilst we are only getting started, our operations to date would not have been possible without our dedicated local/central teams and our proactive Local Authority partners. Seeing tens of thousands of Irish customers using our e-bikes validates the importance of shared micromobility. Some 2023 highlights; - Shared e-bike operations in 6 counties, 200% YoY growth - 298% YoY growth in e-bike trips - 274% YoY growth in KM travelled by e-bike - Largest shared e-bike fleet in Ireland - In app cognitive reaction test every night in all towns/cities (10 PM - 5 AM) - Controlled parking in all towns/cities - Speed restrictions and No-Go zone control in all towns/cities - Speed restrictions in applicable towns/cities during weather warnings - 967: Most orders by one customer who travelled a total of 4,299KM (3rd longest distance via micromobility of all Bolt countries) Shared electric micromobility can contribute significantly to the transportation and climate goals of Ireland by reducing private car use, lowering pollution and transforming how we move around our cities, cities that are already at capacity with their existing transport options (car, bus, rail). It will take a collaborative, mutually beneficial, and proactive approach from all stakeholders. Experienced operators with local knowledge working together with local and central government who have the desire to implement change. As one of the metaCCAZE trailblazer cities, Munich is focusing on promoting bike use for last-mile deliveries and shifting freight transport to electric cargo bikes and compact EVs.
