The client and candidate interview is by far the most critical step in the process. Sure, as recruiters, we need to do the ground work - source, screen, interview and test. But never underestimate how well you know your business and what you and your team need.
Can’t wait to share the interview that Paula Maidens and I had this morning. Thank you Paula for sharing so many powerful insights that we get to share!!

Hi everyone. It's Tiffany English here. I just had the best catch up with Paula Maidens. We were talking about all things recruitment, particularly when it comes to the client interview. Now we're gonna share this because we're actually recording it to share with our clientele and our future clients on that final piece of the puzzle. So as an offshore recruitment expert, our job is to understand what you're after, go to market, source the talent and screen them some predominant basic testing and put them in front of you. Final interview. Now what's really key is that final interview with you. So you as the business owner, as the leader, as the manager, understands the business like no other. You understand exactly what's going to be required from a skill perspective and you can dive in on on certain tasks. You also understand culturally how that alignment is going to fit. And so the conversation was all about how do you make sure that that interview is absolutely the key to success? How are you asking the right questions? How do you identify where their skill is and also any skill gaps? Because it's likely there's going to be some. So identify up front what that looks like and whose problem that is to solve yours, the candidates, or potentially both. So there are so many tidbits that I can't wait to share in this interview and just reiterate the importance of when you're doing a final interview, whether it's with a Filipino or whether it's with a local team member. Don't underestimate the importance of digging deep, because recruitment is hard. But hiring again is even harder. So that's our tips for today. I look forward to sharing with that that interview with you all in the coming weeks. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Tiffany English and I recorded a great conversation this morning about the importance of YOUR final interview (as the leader / business owner) when you are using a recruiter (for onshore or offshore hiring)
We talked about what and how you need to do in that interview to make sure you are truly skill testing if they are right for you role and your business, how to know if there is a cultural fit and ultimately how to identify the gaps so you can truly make a confident hiring decision.
We'll be publishing the full recording of our conversation in the next week or so... stay tuned!
