This will be a good event. Last summer when we researched the extent to which our QCA Corporate Governance Code was being used it was great to see that 76% of Aquis Stock Exchange companies had adopted it. Next week I'll be talking about the revised QCA Code and how its flexible set of principles are designed to help growing companies run better and support a good conversation with investors. A very engaging and lively (to say the least) discussion of alternative fund structures yesterday at the Institutional Investor Alternatives Conference. It was great debating the pros and cons with Victoria Greene, CFA, Saumen Chattopadhyay, CFA®, CPA, FCA and Mark Gatto. A lot of great viewpoints on the democratization of alternatives downstream to high net worth individuals is real. Ultimately advisors talking with clients need to understand both the investment merits and operational implications for the client (liquidity, mark-to-market), and make sure that clients understand them too.
