The power of follow-up. You'll want to read this one! 👇 Someone I know purchased a bottle of tequila at the beginning of the year. The bottle was a gift. They don't drink tequila themselves. Bottle ordered, information taken. Simple. The store confirmed that the bottle had arrived. The bottle was picked up and paid for. This was simply the purchase of a bottle of tequila. You'd imagine the story stops there. But, you'd be wrong! Roughly six months later the buyers phone rang. It was the liquor store! Following up! "We are just following up. We assume you've finished or are nearly finished with the first bottle and thought you'd like to order another one?!" WOW! That was the impression the buyer had. He was so impressed that he did buy another one! Remember, the buyer didn't and still doesn't drink tequila. Yet, the experience was so out of the ordinary (in a good way). That they bought a second bottle! That right there is the power of follow-up! Moral of the story, never skip a step. You never know which one is the step to the sale. #process #experience #followup #roadtothesale #bethechange

Experienced, passionate commercial manager in the Drinks Industry with a demonstrated history of delivering cross-category growth, results-driven and commercially focused – specialising in National On Trade Customers.
The way we drink is changing… with 74% of consumers saying they will moderate the way they drink in some way this year, the importance of a well/rounded no and low range in pubs and bars grows… Some Pubs have in the past been seen to stock a fruit zero cider because ‘fruit cider makes up the lions share of packaged cider’. But When apple makes up over 60% of all cider sold in the on-trade and with more drinkers: 🦓 ‘zebra striping’ - alternating their alcoholic drink with the like-for-like alternative nonalcoholic option or 📕’book end’ - starting and finishing with a nonalcoholic drink but drinking the like-for-like alcoholic version in-between Stocking a zero apple cider offers not just a margin opportunity but will help to meet the needs of those cider drinkers moderating, gets them to stay longer and keeps them coming back. Thanks KAM Insight for the insight into these trends! Thatchers Cider Company Ltd Are excited to be partnering with Lucky Saint | B Corp™ Diageo and Adnams on the The Morning Advertiser No and Low project. Keep an eye out for more over the next 12 months!
The way people are moderating is changing. It’s no longer just about dry January or being a designated driver, alcohol free options are a standard part of everyday socialising. With 1 in 3 pub visits being alcohol free, and a quarter of people alternating between alcoholic and non-alcoholics drinks on a night out*, having a premium low/no apple cider on offer ensures customers get the full experience they are looking for and stay out longer. That’s why we’re delighted to share that J D Wetherspoon are stocking Thatchers Zero in every single one of their venues! Zero, the No.1 low/no apple cider in the UK, is crafted using full-bodied cider apples and fermented to give it the same complexity and depth of flavour you get from alcohol so there is no compromise on taste. Buy 1 get 2 free, Upto 80% off… But 10 Rs for the carry bag On one hand, we’re valued customers, deserving of grand discounts. On the other, when it comes to the basic convenience of carrying our prized purchases, we’re asked to dive into our wallets for a mere carry bag. Is it just me, or does this feel like being offered a gourmet meal and then being charged for the cutlery? It leaves me pondering, is it ignorance, arrogance or a genius strategy by the retail brands ? Fellow members from the retail industry, I’d love to hear your insights on this. What’s the story behind the cost of convenience? #RichardWrites

A Tale of Two Cakes I wanted to give a shoutout to Cake in a Box for their incredible end-to-end experience. But first, let me share how one of their competitors let me down. I haven't been well, so I left organising my husband's birthday celebrations until the last minute. I kept seeing ads from this competitor about trendy cake deliveries, so I ordered one to be delivered to his office. #influenced The company I chose had amazing marketing, but after that, the experience fell apart. I received an order confirmation and a welcome email with a $5 off voucher for my first order, which confused me since I'd already placed an order. After that, crickets. I ordered a few days in advance and was atleast hoping for delivery details, but there was complete silence. I then saw reviews from customers who received deliveries way outside the promised window—not ideal for an office delivery. I emailed them, asking for delivery before 5 PM or to redirect it. No answer. No chatbot. No phone support. No self-service options. I messaged them on Instagram and was told to email customer service, which I had already done without a response. They kept directing me to email. Days later, I still had no reply. On the delivery day, the tracking link said 'preparing your order,' and I was anxious. Not wanting to leave my husband without a cake, I googled 'same day cake delivery' and Cake in a Box popped up. I placed an order and immediately received a confirmation, followed by a "What you can expect next" email. This was reassuring. I quickly got a delivery tracking link with an ETA. A same-day order was arriving faster than the cake I ordered days ago. Cake in a Box created more positive emotions within an hour than the other business did in several days. What Any Business Should Learn: Communication is KEY. Prevent buyer's anxiety. Don’t over-promise and under-deliver. Great marketing means nothing if the experience doesn't match. Don’t send customers to other channels when they've already contacted you. Use data to ensure your reply SLAs are within the typical order-to-delivery window. cakeinabox.com.au
