Stonewalling is when someone shuts down and refuses to communicate, which can harm relationships. It makes partners feel demeaned or abused, affecting their self-worth. Shutting someone out can escalate conflicts and lead to regrettable outcomes. It's important to find constructive ways to address issues. https://buff.ly/2Sy0vW6 #Relationships #Communication

The biggest mistake in communication is the illusion it's happening! In a world filled with noise, it's easy to assume we're connecting when, in reality, we're just talking past each other. That’s where mediation comes in! Mediation helps us peel back the layers and get to the heart of the issue. It’s a safe space where all voices are heard, and where peace is the goal. By bringing our conflicts to the table, we can resolve them in a healthy, productive way. Certified Mediator at Tapestry ADR | Employment Partner | Chief Talent, Diversity & Inclusion at Parker Poe
I spend a lot of time thinking about conflict resolution and this is probably no surprise - but communication is the key! Whether just navigating a conversation or facilitating a mediation, communication is the bridge to understanding and collaboration. Both nonverbal cues and the words we choose play a significant role. By asking open-ended questions, practicing active listening, using empathy and remaining calm under pressure, we can all create environments where folks feel heard and valued. This fosters trust and respect, essential elements in successful mediation. Unresolved conflicts hinder progress. Learning how to resolve conflicts openly and honestly keeps us all on the path to success. #MediationSkills #EffectiveCommunication #ConflictResolution #UncommonADR
