TIME's new cover: The 100 most influential people in AI https://ti.me/3TkEaca
To have Gina Raimondo, who is actively pushing for US Govt control on models, on your cover and not Sam and Elon, is just bizarre.
No Elon Musk, no Sam Altman, no Alex Karp, no Peter Thiel...you put the guy that reviews Apple products on but not Elon Musk?!?! What a joke.
Time has pointless for over 20 years. It doesn't own any thought leadership. The Shapers section is absurd. Scarlett Johansson had a brief spat for a week. She didn't shape anything. Scott Weiner doesn't know anything about AI, and promotes harmful policy for all of California. He's the last person you want to have a voice on any technology. Even more absurd is Elon is not on this list, yet I bet every leader listed drives one of his cars. Not that he cares, but that is blatantly ridiculous.
Two surprising things stand out to me: 1. Elon Musk is unexpectedly missing from the list 2, Anil Kappor is in the list. (Since he is well known hindi cinema actor, that's why grabbed my attention So, is there any reason to exclude Elon Musk from the list. Or I have missed him out. Though I went thorough the influentionals list.
Top 10 Most influential people on AI Here is a list by Chatgpt 1. Geoffrey Hinton 2. Yoshua Bengio 3. Yann LeCun 4. Andrew Ng 5. Demis Hassabis 6. Fei-Fei Li 7. Ian Goodfellow 8. Elon Musk 9. Sam Altman 10. Cynthia Rudin
Looks like those players on the periphery of AI are presented. I’d remind those hype merchants that in the gold rush it’s those selling picks and shovels that (for the most part) made the money. This is a cover that I feel sure will be re-hashed in a ‘where are they now’ post in the near future. #emperorsclothes
I don’t see him ? Is it a miss or ? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Ng Andrew Ng
I can't tell if this is wrong because Time have no idea what they're talking about, or just wrong to bait people into commenting on how far off the mark the selections are. Looks like 9 out of 10 comments are pointing out that people should or shouldn't be on the cover, but if the list was perfect I can't imagine anyone would bother commenting at all.

1moWhy are Mr Anil Kapoor and Ms Johansen here in this list? Atleast I can understand she was part of Lucy. By the way, Sam Altman and Elon Musk are missing. TO ERR IS HUMAN. But Time magazine should not do so. Nvidia, Neuralink and Open AI rules.
