Timmons Group is proud to announce that our geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing (CMT) services practice has earned several prestigious accreditations from the AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials). A significant highlight among these achievements is that Timmons Group is one of less than a dozen laboratories in the United States to hold the Thermal Resistivity of Soil accreditation. "The accreditation for Thermal Resistivity of Soil is particularly significant, highlighting our laboratory's advanced capabilities and our position as a leader in the field. These achievements reinforce our ability to support our clients' projects with precise, reliable data," Nathan Reeves, principal and leader of Timmons Group's geotechnical engineering and CMT services practice, said. No matter the weather or time of year, we can do geotechnical engineering! Can we drill in the wintertime? YES. Can we drill if the ground is frozen? YES. Get your geotechnical engineering done in the winter so you can build in the spring! #geotechnicalengineering #geotechnical #geotechnics

Trial pits are a type of subsurface investigation that involves the excavation of a small trench or pit to gather information about the soil and geological conditions of a site. This method is commonly used in geotechnical engineering and environmental assessments to assess the suitability of the site for construction or to determine the presence of hazardous materials. In this article, we will explore what trial pits are, where they are used, and the essential aspects of this type of investigation. https://lnkd.in/epu8tfCF

Wyoming is a unique state with a very different environment than other states across the country. In fact, more than 90% of Wyoming's soils are alkaline and the corrosive soil conditions in the state can cause metal pipes to degrade faster than expected. This can often times lead to unplanned replacement projects. Through geotechnical engineering we can understand the properties of the soil and rock and perform site investigations in a specific area to see how the materials affect the stability and safety of our infrastructure. #WLC #CivilEngineer #LandSurveying #GeotechnicalEngineering
