ABC for RE Reflecting on my earlier career as a reservoir engineer, I've found that some lessons remain timeless. A reservoir engineer must: -Think of the well, reservoir, and facilities as a unit system. -Think long-term. -Think in different scales. -Check units ...twice! We hope you all having a nice summer ☀ We just wanted to share some exciting news about one of our clients in Kansas. They took over the operating wells and needed help with identifying the production enhancement opportunities with their leases. Initially deal was based on the production of 3.5 BOPD, however, after the closer look and actual field testing, the production was confirmed at 2.2 BOPD. Rod Jack Solutions, LLC performed well-by-well analysis, revised the FDP (field development plan), developed the workover & EOR schedule with a potential of production enhancement. Key highlights for the existing leases – high permeability, high water cut, depleted formation pressures (classic sandstone zones). With that being said, our client had confirmed the current production is stabilized at 5.5 BOPD, with a little investment into workover operations. With future FDP implementation we are foreseeing production increase in a short term. If you are sitting with a bunch of shut-in wells and don’t know what to do with all those assets maybe, it’s time to reach out to us. We have the knowledge, experience and the low impact equipment we use to evaluate the wells before spending a big buck on high-risk assests. I've been seeing quite a few opinions and thoughts on production in the Permian starting to plateau. Some of the data I've seen has been skewed due to COVID's impact, so I wanted to see what forecasted production might look like if we go back in time for a second. Interestingly enough, we might not be anywhere near plateauing (even when looking at non-projected data). I've personally worked with these wells, from Pecos County to Loving, Reeves, Culberson, etc. I've brought wells online producing 2,000 bbls per day (you don't want to see the water numbers, lol). I've also seen wells with this type of potential never see the light of day due to factors that have absolutely zero to do with reservoir potential. There are many things that can influence actual production. One current consideration that's not being discussed enough is the giant knowledge gap looming. Many factors to consider...
