The understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) has fueled the momentum behind the trauma-informed care (TIC) movement, recognizing the widespread impact of adversity on children, families, and communities. In this session, Dr. Cassie Yackley, Director of the Center for Trauma Responsive Practice, will explore "trauma-responsive practices," which focus on creating safe, stable, and nurturing environments by addressing both individual trauma and systemic oppression. This session is part of the 12th Annual Strengthening Families Summit, where participants will dive into critical conversations around supporting families through trauma-responsive community practices. #StrengtheningFamiliesSummit #TraumaResponsiveCare #AdverseChildhoodExperiences #TraumaInformedCare #StrengtheningFamilies #CommunitySupport #BuildingResilience #SupportingFamilies

Chaplaincy Service Manager | Leading Pastoral and Spiritual Care at Luxurycare Group & Ordinand in the Church of England
🌟 The Vital Role of Chaplains in Care Homes 🌟 As we age, our physical health isn’t the only aspect that matters. Emotional and spiritual well-being play a crucial role too. That’s where chaplains step in! 🙏 🔹 Restoring Hope and Community Spirit Chaplaincy services help sustain hope, well-being, and community spirit among older adults in care homes. 🔹 Beyond Physical Health the person-centered approach recognises that spiritual health is equally important. Chaplains offer a listening presence, helping residents cope with challenges like increasing frailty, family issues, and life changes. They also foster community-building, linking residents, families, staff, and volunteers. Regardless of faith, chaplains are valued and appreciated by all. 🔹 Evidence-Backed Benefits Did you know that spiritual fulfillment can improve physical and mental health? Over 1,200 medical studies link faith and religious practices to health benefits. These include an improved immune system, faster recovery rates, and better coping abilities during illness. Let’s celebrate the many unsung heroes around the world —the chaplains—who bring comfort, compassion, and connection to our older loved ones. 🌈👵👴 #ElderlyCare #Chaplaincy #WellBeing #olderpersonchaplaincy

The final report from the Better End of Life Programme, funded by Marie Curie, was published today! This is the largest nationally representative post-bereavement survey in England and Wales since 2015, and something I've worked with since joining Cicely Saunders Institute at King's College London. The report demonstrates that many people are unable to access the joined-up care and support they and their family carers need at the end of life, with knock-on effects on symptom management and bereavement outcomes. Care services are over-stretched and many family carers take on significant care and coordination roles despite little support. Report and policy briefings available here: https://lnkd.in/eyiBnpwh

During National Recovery Month, we are reminded that true joy in recovery comes not from escaping reality, but from confronting it with courage and grace. At New Paradigm Recovery, we see individuals transform their lives by facing their challenges head-on, finding strength in the process. Recovery is about embracing the journey toward a more fulfilling and purposeful life, one that allows for growth, connection, and healing. This month, we celebrate the resilience of those in recovery and the compassionate professionals who support them every step of the way. Let’s continue to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and foster hope for those seeking recovery. https://lnkd.in/eKARrJDF #NationalRecoveryMonth #AddictionRecovery #Resilience #MentalHealth #NewParadigmRecovery #RecoveryJourney #SupportAndCare
