I love talking to marketers to pick their brains on how can we make it easier for them to take decisions. But, when they tell me about click-through rates and ROAS, I feel like pulling them aside and telling them: ""Your CEO & CMO are NOT going to be pleased with those vanity metrics."" In fact, that is how we helped marketers at a couple of companies. One was a DTC fashion brand targeting style-conscious young professionals. We broke down their: - Cross-channel performance—social ads for acquisition - Email for retention Result? They learned which efforts expanded their loyal customer base. The other was a B2B SaaS provider targeting mid-market tech firms. We helped them realize that: - Doubling down on LinkedIn campaigns and personalized webinars attracted high-quality leads and - Retained existing accounts longer ---------------------------------- So, my suggestion to you is: → Don’t just track conversions - Integrate first-party data with unified measurement models - Use marketing mix modeling (MMM) and incrementality testing → Learn from real-world examples - Measure incremental revenue and customer lifetime value across all channels. → Highlight business impact, not just marketing metrics - Focus on the business outcomes that matter.
