Stadium update: Mayor Donna Deegan, lead negotiator Mike Weinstein, and Jacksonville Jaguars President Mark Lamping jointly presented a landmark stadium renovation agreement at the Jacksonville City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 14. All parties are pleased to have reached agreement on the framework of a deal that protects the taxpayers, benefits the entire community, and secures the Jaguars’ presence in Jacksonville for decades to come.
Estimates suggest the economic impact of the renovated stadium to the Jacksonville community throughout the Jaguars’ 30-year lease will total $26 billion, with an estimated $2.4 billion in one-time economic impact during construction. This $1.4 billion deal compares favorably to other NFL markets. It is also the largest public infrastructure investment in Jacksonville history, and the largest private investment in the history of downtown Jacksonville.

Virtual and augmented reality technologies might enable immersive experiences, bringing historical and cultural narratives to life in captivating ways. AI could also play a pivotal role in sustainability efforts, optimizing energy use, waste management, and even crowd control, thereby reducing the environmental footprint. The use of big data analytics could provide insights into visitor behaviors, enabling continuous improvement in services and facilities. If developers integrate new technology, it will not only enhance the visitor experience but also establish Oahu as a benchmark in harmonizing advanced technology with cultural and environmental sensitivity. The district could become a hub for innovation, attracting global attention and setting new standards in traditional sports, esports and entertainment.

At Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel & Casino (pictured), the Won-Doors serve as a fire-assembly separator, between the casino and the shopping center.
They are commonly used in sports facilities for football, baseball, basketball and hockey, where large numbers of fans must pass through openings and corridors that must be sealed off in an emergency while still providing emergency egress.
