Are You Viewing the World Through a Keyhole? We often view our lives and businesses through a narrow lens, like looking through a keyhole. Dr. Strange from Marvel once said, “You are a man looking at the universe through a keyhole.” This resonates in our daily interactions. We often assume that others share our reality, but the truth is that everyone perceives the world through their unique lens. We don’t know what/that we don’t know, and admitting this can be challenging. In a recent meeting, when I asked who recognized their knowledge gaps, three-fourths of the room raised their hands. This highlights our need to listen and consider diverse viewpoints to truly succeed. Our senses interpret the world differently, and our understanding is limited to the light waves and sound frequencies we can comprehend. This variance in perception leads to misunderstandings and missed opportunities. Our experiences are often similar to the blindfolded man examining an elephant—each person sees only part of. Over the next 12 weeks, I’ll explore twelve perceptions that can help us become better leaders. Here are some reflective questions to consider: ➡️ Is my perspective narrow or broad? ➡️ Do I have a trusted board of advisors to challenge my thinking? ➡️ How can I broaden my viewpoint? Challenges modern leaders face are growing in complexity. Many leaders fail not due to a lack of knowledge but because they struggle to align their perceptions with reality. "The concept of comfort and discomfort is subjective and influenced by individual preferences. Each person's comfort level varies based on their unique preferences and inclinations. Personal aspirations play a significant role in determining one's comfort zone, as individuals focus on honing skills aligned with their goals. For example, professionals in singing may not excel in cricket due to their specialization in particular skill sets. Therefore, what may be comfortable for one person could be discomforting for another, highlighting the subjective nature of comfort zones." To excel in a career , individuals must gain more skills and knowledge for that particular field

⛔⚠️ The comfort zone is inevitable. There will be no growth (zone) if there are no standards, and thus no fear and learning zones. As a result, you set standards and then progress from one standard to the next to determine whether you're in one of those zones. When you're in the growth zone, you should feel at ease for a while before progressing to the next level. As a result, a comfort zone is necessary, but it is only intermittent. 📌📈
