For anyone that doesn’t know, Connor Mason and I officially launched fluid focus from Buenos Aires 🇦🇷 whilst on a career break. Despite the distance, we got our MVP into the hands of c.1K pilot students and young professionals, which included students at the University of London, a large college and a number of leading grammar schools in Northern Ireland. Over those four months that followed, we found time to: ☑️ talk to our users  ☑️ deeply understand the problems we’re tackling  ☑️ expand our marketplace, onboarding c.40 wellness brands  ☑️ deepen our strategic partnerships with academic institutions and businesses Whilst traveling through:  🇨🇱 Chile 🇧🇷 Brazil 🇧🇴 Bolivia  🇲🇽 Mexico  🇨🇴 Colombia 🇬🇹 Guatemala It’s fair to say that our career break quite quickly turned into remote working 😂 And as interest grew, returning to Belfast to run the business full-time became a no-brainer. We now have over 30+ universities and colleges (and counting!) signed up for this academic year. This will give us reach to c.600K students, who we know from our work so far, are in desperate need of support to better manage their relationship with their smartphone and social media. Over the next couple of weeks, we would like to introduce and explain all about ARRD.    ARRD is a talent management program that has been developed for organisations & employee's, by the fantastic team at Yorkshire Care Group Limited, including Simon Starling and Angela Fletcher BA (hons) RNLD GCGI FInstLM.   The ARRD program has been implemented within The Yorkshire Care Group and will soon be available to external companies.   Today, let’s take a look at #workplacetalent   What is workplace talent? Workplace talent refers to individuals within an organisation who possess unique skills, abilities, and potential that contribute significantly to continued organisational success. This can include combinations of both the inherent capabilities of employees and their acquired qualifications and competencies resulting in a team that is a comprehensive agile work force.    These include: ➡️ Skills: Specific natural or developed abilities that enable employees to perform relevant tasks and manage responsibilities effectively, such as technical skills, management skills and supervision and leadership.   ➡️ Experience: The knowledge gained through direct practical involvement in organisational activities, projects and technical processes. The employee will be able to identify and resolve problems associated with productivity, have supervisory responsibilities and empowerment to make decisions.   ➡️ Potential: The aptitude for growth and development within their current and future roles, indicating leadership and management potential providing opportunity for a rewarding career. ➡️ Cultural: The alignment of an employee's values, standards and behaviours with the organisation's culture, contributing to team cohesion and morale. Identifying and nurturing workplace talent is essential for driving innovation, improving performance, and achieving growth. After attending the session Kennon Harrison, Jr. “Global Skills for Learning and Work: Launching Lifelong Earning,” GlobalMindED I'm more excited than ever about the direction our country is heading regarding the importance of durable skills. 🌟 The Power of Work Culture in PBSA 🌟 Thanks to Sophie Quenby CMgr MCMI for the podcast recommendation that got me through yesterdays long run, Diary of a CEO – Simon Sinek. After listening, then spotting the latest StudentCrowd review for Erwin Orduz and the team at Derwent Students site at Hyndland House,  it made me think about how important it is to have a strong company culture. One that recognises the impact of service and acts of giving. In Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA), our duty extends beyond giving a roof over student’s heads—it’s about well-being, communities, and often a journey with our residents. Without a company culture centred around service and giving, are we able to truly meet a core mission of creating thriving communities? Creating a strong work culture involves more than just offering reward platforms and free lunches, although they absolutely help! When a team comes together with a common goal, supported by having the opportunity to develop and feel heard, they are uplifted which drives excellence.
