The amount of solutions is getting nuts...just from the point after we got listed here....which is why (for advisors) it can be good to integrate/automate what you already have (I do) ....and of course, evaluate new solutions (when the need justifies it) - I do too.. If your product cannot be consumed via API with minimal effort, you are not building a platform, you are building a tool. I was faced with this realization back in July, when a large global fintech platform approached Commenda to use our backend as part of a new product they were shipping to tens of thousands of cross-border businesses. While it took some work, we were able to deliver our entire platform as a consumable API in just 6 weeks. How did we manage to accomplish this? From day one, Yaacov and I have always believed that investing in building a scalable data model and modular architecture would be key to our business in the long run. This was no small task – incorporation and tax filings are operational processes that require a strong system-of-record and clean design to be able to serve to third parties. For a long time, it was not clear this strategy would ever pay off. But when that 7-figure contract came walking in the door this summer, the time and attention to detail was rewarded. We are lucky to now have dozens of customers using our API for tax calculations, filings, and even incorporation in the US and India (with the UK, Ireland, Singapore, and Dubai shipping soon).
