Since 2018, we have proudly provided real property advisory and project management support to the implementation of the Laboratories Canada strategy – a 25 year plan to create state-of-the-art, innovative and collaborative science research centres from coast to coast. The Government of Canada will be investing $1.5B in funding for the construction of two new science labs at the National Research Council’s Montreal Road campus as part of Phase 1 of the strategy, which will be part of the TerraCanada and Transportation Safety and Technology Science (TSTS) group of science hubs. The TerraCanada NCA facility will support scientific advancements for sustainable land, resource development, and a low-carbon economy, while the TSTS facility will assess and reduce transportation safety risks for Canadians. Both projects will provide scientists with leading-edge, multi-purpose, sustainable and collaborative facilities to complement existing government science laboratories and capabilities. We need world-class infrastructure to support world-leading research. But without the expertise to operate them, we can't unlock its full potential. Research Technical Professionals (RTPS) play this vital role, which is why we’re investing £16 million in their training and development support. Funded through EPSRC and the UK Research and Innovation Digital Research Infrastructure programme, 11 community-driven projects will share learnings, provide additional skills, and support long-term career progression for RTPs, including training in areas such as: 🔹 software development, 🔹 data management and processing, 🔹 materials science 🔹 biomolecular engineering Jane Nicholson, Research Base Director at EPSRC said: “Through these 11 new projects, the Strategic Technical Platform funding will help cultivate a thriving, dynamic, and vibrant community of research technicians. "This community will not only support and elevate cutting-edge research in the UK, but also foster a sizeable, highly skilled and esteemed research technician network. The UK is a world leader in high-tech research and development and it’s essential that we fully support the full breadth of skills needed for the workforce that deliver this innovation." Head to our website for further information on the projects. And welcome to our project leads: Jeyan Thiyagalingam, STFC Jeremy Cohen, Imperial College London Ann-Marie Mallon, The Alan Turing Institute Robert Richardson, University of Leeds Max Munoz, Queen Mary University of London Tony Horner, Henry Royce Institute at The University of Manchester Ian Hancox, University of Warwick Derren Heyes, The University of Manchester Edward Codling, University of Essex Anneke Lubben, University of Bath Philip Couch, The University of Manchester #Tech #Skills #Career #Research #Development

Attached is the video material from the opening ceremony of the #supercomputing #Center in the #EngineeringCity that is unique in its capacity among the EU Eastern Partnership countries, and within the Eurasian Economic Union, #Armenia is the second in terms of having such #Supercomputing power. "We aim to create the best possible opportunities for all individuals, #scientists, and #engineers who seek to engage in creative work. This is crucial because, without an office, proper #equipment, and the necessary software, it is often nearly impossible for a scientist to produce #worldclass #research and creative outputs. Similarly, engineers need the right tools and infrastructure to innovate. Therefore, providing these resources is essential. State's investments in enhancing the quality of #education and the introduction of #STEM #laboratories in all schools of #Armenia are forward-looking initiatives."
