At Titan Electric we are excited about this year’s Summer Internship Program and the outstanding students that have joined the team! Our goal is to make the program both challenging and fun. We proactively invest both time and resources to grow and develop the intern participants as much as possible. Even in the internship program, no one will ever be a number—we recognize and value the contributions of each person and appreciate them as a part of the Titan Electric family! Meet our 2024 summer interns, Andrew, Arturo, and Isaac: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM? > ANDREW: Seattle Kraken! > ARTURO: FC Barcelona > ISAAC: Edmonton Oilers (I’m not Canadian, but my sister and her husband live in Canada. I like to visit and watch the team play!) IF YOU COULD TALK TO YOUR 5-YEAR-OLD SELF AND WANTED TO IMPRESS THEM, WHAT WOULD YOU TELL THEM? > ANDREW: I would let myself know that I graduated magna cum laude in Mechanical Engineering. > ARTURO: I would tell my five-year-old self to never settle and strive for the best. > ISAAC: That we have progressively made each and every goal. Even the ones that seem like we missed it worked out in the end. WHAT'S SOMETHING YOU'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO? > ANDREW: Going surfing with my family in Canada. > ARTURO: I am looking forward to meeting new people and getting the full Titan experience in different departments. > ISAAC: Graduating college. I never really thought I would make it to college, let alone get a bachelor’s degree. WHAT IS ONE APP ON YOUR PHONE THAT YOU COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT? > ANDREW: I could not live without Spotify. > ARTURO: The app I would not be able to live without would be TikTok! > ISAAC: Spotify. Drives wouldn’t be the same without my music/podcasts.

📣 This week’s GRIP Summer Intern Spotlight is Jack Turbush! Jack is an undergraduate student in his fourth year at Georgia Tech, majoring in Aerospace Engineering. Jack is currently interning with Airbus in Bremen, Germany. Read on to learn how Jack turned his summer internship offer into an incredible experience working in High-Lift Component Loads and Dynamics. ⬇ 🌍 Typical day in your new role? “Typically, I arrive and sometimes get to see the Beluga as I bike across the site. I typically work on my project for the week, get coffee with a fellow Yellow Jacket coworker, go to lunch and take a lap around the site, and go back to the office to continue with the project. I often have questions for my supervisor and other students to learn more about something or collaborate to solve a problem.” 🌍 A highlight of your experience abroad so far? “I am super excited for the opportunity to learn more about the different aspects of a commercial aircraft, what teams are doing through networking, and to see the manufacturing process. I got to attend a massive event where they offered tours of the manufacturing facilities here in Bremen!” 🌍 A word of advice for GT students applying to internships like yours? “It can be tough to figure out how to adjust to a new city and get all your paperwork in order but once you’re here, it’s amazing. I recommend asking around if students have a group chat or frequent meetup so you can have a source of social connection. Also shared apartments in Germany are the way to go, as I have met some very good friends through mine.” 💡 Students who receive offers to intern abroad often require extensive documentation to apply for visas and work permits in the host country. If you already received an offer to intern abroad, reach out to a GRIP advisor to register your internship with Georgia Tech’s Global Research and Internship Program and learn more about navigating this process.
