Vice President & Head of Diversity, Equity Inclusion & Belonging | Driving Healthcare Transformation Through DEIB | Leading with ❤
Today is the start of BeBe Moore Campbell Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. Why a mental health awareness month focused on minority communities? Because not everyone has equal and equitable access to mental health services due to inadequate provider networks, stigma, shame, or fear of judgment. In my role, which is focused on transforming healthcare through diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, it's critically important to raise awareness of the need for mental health equity. Culturally and ethnically competent mental health care shouldn’t be a luxury; it should be the norm in our society. #ShadesofMentalHealth #minoritymentalhealthawarenessmonth #bebemoorecampbell

It's time to address this disparity and ensure diverse voices are heard in mental health care. During Mental Health Awareness Month, let's advocate for more inclusive and accessible services for our community. #RepresentationMatters #MentalHealthEquality #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth

May is #MentalHealthAwareness month and this week’s focus is on the unique challenges, strengths, and contexts that affect mental health in people from racial and ethnic minority groups. Everyone deserves access to respectful and culturally appropriate care yet members of racial and ethnic minority groups experience challenges that may require unique mental health support. Cultural differences should be respected and celebrated when providing mental health support. Mental health care providers are encouraged to consider the cultural nuances and needs of the diverse communities they serve. Addressing and reducing barriers to treatment are the first steps to building more equitable health systems. Together, we can improve access to mental health care for people from racial and ethnic minority groups! #MHAM2024 #MentalHealthMatters Find resources here: https://loom.ly/qGhH28s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)

#𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐃𝐚𝐲, observed annually on October 10th, serves as a crucial reminder that mental health is a universal human right. This day brings attention to the fact that everyone, regardless of their background, deserves access to mental health care and support. The theme underscores the fundamental belief that mental well-being is not a privilege but a fundamental aspect of human dignity. In a world where stigma and discrimination often surround mental health issues, emphasizing mental health as a universal human right is essential. It encourages societies to break down barriers, raise awareness, and promote inclusivity. By recognizing this right, we acknowledge the importance of providing mental health services, education, and resources to all individuals, fostering a more compassionate and equitable global community. . . ##HealingFromWithin #MentalHealthMatters #OurMindsOurRights #CancerCare #akhilsystems
