Very vital to switch on your phone all the time if you're job seeker.

Navigating Career Choices with Integrity and Confidence A year or two back, I applied for a laborer position at a company, but fate had other plans. When I arrived for the interview, the HR representative quickly recognized that my background and skills had more value than just being a laborer. She suggested that I be considered for a Quality Control Technician role that had just opened up. The initial HR interview was a breeze, setting a positive tone. I was then directed to speak with the Quality Manager. Before the interview even started, he mentioned that he didn’t think I was suitable for the role, questioning the quality standards of my current employer. Despite his skepticism, I answered his questions with confidence, showcasing my knowledge and expertise. However, it became clear that the Quality Manager was out of his depth. He struggled to understand basic quality control terminology and seemed more interested in undermining my qualifications than assessing them. During a 45-minute tour of the facility, I observed technicians not adhering to standard quality practices, further highlighting the discrepancies in their operations. Despite the potential of the job, I realized that working under a manager who lacked both knowledge and respect for the role would lead to constant friction. Coupled with a low wage offer, I decided to turn down the position. Was I wrong? Absolutely not. Standing by my principles and choosing an environment that aligns with my professional values was the right decision. Sometimes, walking away from an opportunity that compromises your integrity is a step towards finding a place where your skills and values are truly appreciated. Stay true to yourself and your career aspirations. The right opportunity is out there, and it's worth the wait.

I help women achieve their business goals - Life Strategist | Relationships Guide | Boundaries Expert | Confidence Curator | Authenticity Alchemist | LGBTQ Inclusive 🏳️🌈
For years, I lived with the belief that I was destined to get every job I applied for, even when I didn't necessarily meet all the traditional qualifications. It felt like I had a golden touch, and rejection never crossed my mind. From my teenage years working as a bank clerk, chemistry lab tech, archeologist, and tour guide, to my adult careers as a factory worker, social services worker, and police officer, I seemed to glide effortlessly from one opportunity to the next. But it wasn't until I began coaching that I had to confront the truth – I didn't always get the job on the first try. In fact, I was initially denied roles that I later secured: - The supervisor position at the factory (was turned down and then hired 3 weeks later) - The overnight shift at the group home (offered the job a week after being turned down) - The supervisor role I was told not to apply for (but I did anyway and got hired) What I realized in hindsight is that I never took "no" for an answer. Once I set my sights on a goal, nothing could stand in my way – not even the hiring manager's initial rejection. Call it manifesting, prayer, or aligning with the universe, but this unwavering determination has been the truth I've lived by to achieve the outcomes I desired. So if you're struggling with change or transitioning to a new opportunity, know that a closed door isn't the end. Keep pushing forward, believe in yourself, and don't let anyone's "no" stop you from going after what you want. #confidence #perservere #perspective #goals #purposeful

What was your hardest or most intense job? For me, that's a hard one to answer, because I had a lot of them! Early in my career I was a church night janitor, worked in fast food, and also worked the night shift in a sweatshop job. And, I learned incredibly valuable things in all of those jobs. They certainly help me appreciate even the most challenging days today in corporate America. So, what were some of your tough jobs? Comment below! (Pic of my son training himself as he starts his own pressure washing business.) #hardestjob #toughestwork #poll #proofofwork

Got this from somewhere else (with credit unknown). I would add to the last part about how others feel after having been with you. This is good and well for getting business. Most of us know how to treat a client or potential client--right? But how do we treat others in general who don't contribute to our bottom line$? Think of people you come across who might not send you business: the receptionist, the cashier, any company's CSR, the janitor, etc. Someone very wise and very successful told me once that when he owned his own (very successful) company and was hiring, after every interview, he would check with the receptionist to see how that person treated her. The answer to that question was ALWAYS part of his consideration in whether to hire someone or not. We have to ask ourselves: Do we stay in touch with people or value them simply because we think we'll receive a benefit from them? Who we are when we think no one is looking is our true character. #goldenrule #charactermatters

Hey LinkedIn fam, can we take a moment to appreciate Wednesdays? I mean, we're halfway through the week and that's something to celebrate, am I right? For me, Wednesdays are more than just a mid-week milestone. They're also my favorite day for setting up interviews. As a Maintenance Recruiter at Air Methods, I spend my whole week screening potential candidates, and by Wednesday, I'm excited to start scheduling interviews for later in the week and looking into the week ahead if needed. I love connecting with people and learning about their career goals and aspirations. Even if they may not be the perfect fit for a specific location, I always keep them in mind for future opportunities. In fact, just this morning, I had a conversation with someone who applied for a position a few weeks ago, but now there's a new opening that's even closer to their home. How's that for timing? I'm always on the lookout for talented individuals who are ready to take their career to new heights (pun intended). And I have to say, talking with maintainers about the opportunities at Air Methods is always a highlight of my day. Even if a position has been filled, I never shy away from discussing potential relocation options. Who knows, it could be the perfect opportunity for someone looking to advance their career!!! #AirMethods #Maintainers #AviationMaintenance

Happy Friday! 🎉⭐️ I enjoyed this post and think it’s spot-on so wanted to share it! A positive attitude and showing your genuine excitement about a role can be the deciding factor! Be yourself and allow your personality to shine through during your interviews! I know it’s hard because of nerves sometimes, but you’ve got this! 🥰☀️ #keepshining #positiveattitude #jobseekers #interviewtips
You might be surprised to know how many folks land job opportunities because of their attitude. If the job offer decision comes down to you and one other candidate, and maybe they are slightly technically better but a tad arrogant. And you were someone the hiring team really liked and felt good about spending time with, and you were enthusiastic and energetic, who do you think they'll choose? One time I was offered a promotion that changed my entire career trajectory, because of how friendly I was in a receptionist job, to someone who checked in at the front desk. It turns out, she was a VP. She created a role for me after meeting me 😂 This was not the first or last time someone gave me an opportunity because of my attitude (even though at one job I was mocked for "smiling too much", so perhaps it can go too far #toofriendly). I sit in interview debriefs, several a week, and humans are still making hiring decisions. Just wanted to share this 1 powerful thing that is in your control today!
