Hey everyone! This week I'm putting the spotlight on Jody Catanese, CPC! Jody explains that; "I have been fortunate to work at Grainger for 17 years! I have been leading the Talent Acquisitions organization for the last year. Prior to this opportunity, I’ve held ~7 different roles within HR supporting various disciplines in HR CoEs and as an HR Business Partner supporting many parts of the Grainger business!" Before coming to Grainger, Jody goes on to say; "I spent a few years as an HR Generalist at a small company and also as an HR Consultant with Deloitte. While both of those experiences were valuable to my professional growth, I feel fortunate to have landed at Grainger. It’s my “Goldilocks” fit, just right for what I want out of my career." When it comes to life outside of Jody's work, she explains that; " I mostly spend time with family. I have been married for 20 years to a High School friend and we have two children, Marcus (11) and Lily (9 going on 19). Together, we like to stay active outdoors…boating, swimming, biking walking, fishing. I also enjoy gardening, working out and reading. I’m not great at just chilling out, so I tend to find things to keep me busy with family or around the house." Some interesting facts about Jody is that she has traveled to various Caribbean or South American locations over 18x in her life. "Some of those locations were multiple times. Our favorite place to vacation is Belize and plan on going back in December. " In the end, Jody is always working on her development as well and she lets us know that; "Fundamentally, I love learning and trying new things. Its how I have approached my career moves over the years by asking myself “what will I gain from this role?” If the answer allows me to broaden my skill set or learn something new, I usually jump at the new opportunity because its helps me grow both personally and professionally. So while I don’t have a specific skill set or role in mind, I will seek out opportunities to challenge myself to grow."
