PAOs are synthetically produced by combining a mixture of gases with a catalyst, under heat and pressure, to form a liquid. 🌞 The Application of Flotation Oil No.2 (2) 🔖 Flotation oil No.2, with the chemical formula C12H25SO4Na, is a commonly used frother. 🔖 Flotation oil No.2 is an oily liquid obtained by hydrolysis of pine oil as raw material, sulfuric acid as catalyst, and peregal (a surface-active substance) as emulsifier. The main component is a-coolenol (about 50%), but also contains diols, hydrocarbon compounds and impurities, etc. 🔖 Flotation oil No.2 is a light yellow oily liquid, irritating effect, density of 0.9 ~ 0.913g/cm, combustible slightly soluble in water. The air can oxidize it, and the viscosity increases after oxidation. It has strong foaming properties and can generate stable foam with uniform size, dense structure, and moderate viscosity, which is the most widely used frother domestically. 🔖 However, when the dosage is too large, the bubbles become small and brittle, deteriorate the flotation index, and even turn into a defoamer. Its foaming performance decreases with the decrease of slurry pH, when using a low alkali medium to separate metal sulfide minerals, it is not suitable to use flotation oil No.2 as a frother. 📚 Flotation oil No.2 is flammable, it should be kept away from the fire source, and pay attention to 🚭 fire prevention when storing.
