The first day of the European Machine Vision Forum in Mulhouse was characterized by exciting presentations and discussions. The morning started among others with presentations by Tomasz Michalski from VisionX, on the topic of “Challenges and Opportunities of Machine Vision in Human-Machine Interaction using User Interfaces”, and a presentation by Josselin Vilpoux from Macnica ATD Europe , focusing on “InnerEye: Bridging the Gap between Humans and AI”. The keynote speech by Jean-Pierre CHAMBARD from Holo3 gave the participants a good overview of how the transfer from research to the implementation of operating systems is organized and pointed out the challenges and possible solutions. The second keynote of the day by Maria-Theresa Licka from MAIWY and University of Kaiserslautern (TU-KL) took the participants back to 1974 and the beginnings of mobile devices and their further development and potential. An interesting first day of the forum ended with a Get-Together. We are already looking forward to an exciting second day of the event. #emvf #machinevision #machinelearning #imageprocessing #computervision #research #network

A big thank you to everyone who joined our event! Together with NVIDIA, we hosted an engaging discussion earlier this week on how AI can revolutionize life sciences and healthcare. Key highlights from the event included: 🤖 Geir Prestegård highlighted the potential of digital twins and how this technology could become a key to the future of healthcare and personalized treatment. 🤖 Impressive live demos of Ebbot, by Pontus Nilsson, Gustav Elveros and Karin Svensson, showcasing outstanding and concrete use-case how GenAI can optimize hyper care when implementing new EMR-system. 🤖 Inspiring discussions on the power of collaboration to drive innovation and address complex challenges. 🤖 And the AI Commission's roadmap, which emphasized opportunities for AI in healthcare and the importance of establishing a national technical infrastructure where companies can safely test AI solutions before full-scale implementation. Technology and collaboration within the ecosystem will drive the future of healthcare and life science, helping improve patient care and efficiency. Is it possible to use AI for the common good? What can be considered the common good? A few weeks ago we held the #Fari2024 conference and we talked about AI, robotics and data. I know that AI is the trendy topic, but you wouldn't believe the high quality of the speakers at the conference. We at FARI - AI for the Common Good Institute were able to record all the presentations and discussions from Studio 4. Everything is really interesting, but if you are short on time I would recommend the first two keynotes and the session on public service missions. The second session was also very interesting. If you want to know more, there's more information on the FARI website.
🎥 Missed the #FARI2024 Conference at Flagey? Don't worry - we've captured all the groundbreaking discussions from Studio 4! Check out the recordings of numerous sessions from the conference including: 🌟 Keynote sessions by renowned experts: - Mireille Hildebrandt, FBA - Theresa Zueger - Yoshua Bengio 🤝 "Assessing AI, Data, and Robotics in Public Service Missions" Featuring Maria Claudia Bodino, Elja Daae, Paul Duan, and Alexandre Pirson Moderated by Hugues Bersini 🇪🇺 "AI for Europe: A Critical Need for Today and Tomorrow" With Martin Canter, Holger Hoos, Alex Moltzau, and Marina Teller Moderated by Gregory Lewkowicz 📣 Opening and closing remarks Ready to dive into the discussion? It's back to work and (some form of) normality for most of us this week. As Paul Milligan perfectly put it: "So what does 2025 hold in store for the AV world? Lots more job movement and lots more AI, or at least things being sold as AI that we would simply have called automation 5/10 years ago. We'll have a better picture of what 2025 will entail in just 4 weeks’ time (wow!) when ISE 2025 opens its doors. What happens that week will tell us what shape the industry is in after a mixed 2024 for many of us." I couldn’t agree more with Paul! 2024 was such an up-and-down year in the local market that I can’t help but feel optimistic about 2025. It might just be the best year yet! With Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2025 just around the corner, I’m looking forward to seeing the trends, innovations, and opportunities that will shape our industry for the better. What are you most looking forward to in 2025 for the AV world? Let’s make it a year to remember! #AVIndustry #2025Vision #ISE2025 #ProAV #AVInnovation #TechnologyTrends #Automation #AIInAV #FutureOfAV

“We augment yesterday with AI to release human creativity to invent tomorrow” #Augment4Creativity2morrow I'll be speaking at the NEW Lab Innovations Conference at the NEC in Birmingham next week on AI Operations with LIMS. AI has so many amazing uses in LIMS, in automation of the tedious and supporting quality of data, as well as alignment. We are seeing huge time savings in the AI operations we are working on in the core business which we hope to share and use in other areas. I am very excited to working with NPL and the amazing work they do in areas like modern al(radio)chemistry to diagnose and treat cancer. The advancement in this area is huge with simulation of wet labs to look at modelling the human ecosystem for chelators in protein transport and attachment, will hopefully lead to safer approaches. It is rapidly growing with new Nobel winning techniques from Deepmind and Google. https://lnkd.in/enUfmeEe
