If you ever wanted to exercise your creativity and innovation muscles, you have to check out challenge.gov. From space exploration to healthcare to clean energy, this is where the government posts all of its most challenging problems! The great thing about these challenges is that they provide one of the places on the planet where you can try and fail with no consequences. But you might not fail... you might hold the answer that we need to solve a hard problem and make a real difference. Whether you are driven by curiosity, want to contribute, desire to make a name for yourself, want to learn something now, or you just want to try and win some cash, these challenges are designed for YOU! You can do them by yourself or form a team with friends. Become part of the movement of people that are done just sitting on the sidelines (or the couch) and want to get in the game. I personally think our NASA challenges are amazing, but there are also great challenges from DOE, HHS, CDC, NIH, DHS, NOAA, NGA, NIST, Bureau of Reclamation.

Hi Everyone, This is my first post to LinkedIn since reclaiming my dormant account last week. It's been fun to see so many people I know here; funny how time flies. I actually have something that is important to me that I could use some help with: I'm trying to get nominated to be in the next election for Audio Engineering Society President-Elect, and need 100 nominations from Full AES Members (not Associate or Student) by tomorrow to get onto the ballot for the election that starts in a few weeks. By my rough counting, I think I'm about 14 nominations short. How to do that is below, and I'll link to a document about why you might want to do that, what my qualifications are, what I'd like to do if elected, and a list of some of the meetings I've produced and/or presented for my Pacific Northwest Section, with links to meeting recaps which might make interesting reading if you're into audio. I'd appreciate any help on this, and like I said, the deadline is tomorrow.
