An interesting look at how radial piston aircraft engines work.
𝐀𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥, 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲! The radial engine predates the jet engine and has been a cornerstone in aircraft innovation, packing more power and efficiency than many traditional engines. But how does it work? ➡ 𝐂𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞, all moving around a single crankshaft. ➡ 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫, ensuring smooth, continuous power output. ➡ 𝐀𝐢𝐫-𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 keeps the engine from overheating during intense use. So why don’t we see radial engines in cars? ➡ 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐤𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐞 makes it challenging to fit into smaller vehicles. ➡ 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐦𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬 require more maintenance than conventional car engines. ➡ 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 limit its use to niche industries. ➡ 𝐅𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 compared to modern car engines makes it less practical for daily use. With all that potential, will the radial engine ever be used for land transportation? Its unique advantages in power and reliability leave us wondering if we might see a breakthrough one day. Stay tuned for more insights on innovation! #Machine #Innovation #Technology

We love #deliverydays around here! However, delivery day is just the beginning—what comes next is where the real work happens! The day a Volvo #EC750E arrives is more than just a delivery—it's the start of new possibilities on the job site. With its arrival, the focus shifts to how it will integrate into daily operations, from the first bucket of earth moved to the last. The EC750E isn’t just about raw power; it’s about reliability. Designed for high productivity in demanding applications, this #excavator features a fuel-efficient Volvo D16 engine and advanced hydraulics for quick operation, reducing cycle times and enhancing efficiency. Built to last with reinforced undercarriage and heavy-duty components, it ensures reliability in tough conditions, giving you the confidence to push boundaries and meet tight deadlines. But let's be clear—success doesn't happen just because the machine shows up. It’s about how you integrate it into your workflow, train your team, and maintain that beast for the long haul. Delivery day is the start of something big. Why do our heavy-duty truck e-axle systems have stronger regenerative braking capability? While the traditional central drive rear axle adopts a spiral bevel gear tooth structure, the forward and reverse tooth surfaces have inconsistent torque transmission capability, and the reverse torque transmission capability is low, which cannot fully utilize the regenerative braking capability of the motor. Our distributed drive solution adopts a parallel shaft cylindrical gear, the forward and reverse gears are completely consistent, can withstand 100% reverse torque, and can fully utilize the regenerative braking ability of the motor.
