Lets not forget the original trailblazers of American sports—the Black jockeys who dominated horse racing long before Jackie Robinson and Michael Jordan became household names. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Black jockeys won 15 of the first 28 Kentucky Derbies, showcasing unmatched skill and resilience. Among them was Isaac Murphy, a legend in horse racing history. Born in 1861, Murphy overcame the harsh realities of post-Civil War America to become the first jockey to win the Kentucky Derby three times—in 1884, 1890, and 1891. His astounding 44% win rate remains one of the highest in the sport’s history. Despite their dominance, Black jockeys were systematically pushed out of the sport they helped shape. Yet their legacy of excellence, determination, and resilience paved the way for future generations of athletes. ✨ It’s time to recognize and celebrate these pioneers who galloped into history and redefined sports excellence. 💭 Did you know about Isaac Murphy and the impact of Black jockeys on horse racing? 💬 Share your thoughts below. Let’s amplify these untold stories and honor their legacy. #BlackHistory #IsaacMurphy #SportsLegends #Trailblazers #DiversityInSports #EquityAndInclusion #UntoldStories #BlackExcellence #AmericanHistory #SportsHistory

We close out qualifying for our 2nd sim racing tournament that links togehter arrive and drive sim racing centers in North America. We allocated the first 3 events as a beta to ramp up for 2025 as a monthly event. Everything is trending in the right direction and it has been a big learning experience. Hosting these events with drivers that are all on the iRacing.com platform and racing from home is a lot easier to do as there are only a few moving parts. Tackling (very appropriate term) the multi-locational format with each location individually owned and operated adds a lot of complexity. However, I'm getting an opportunity to see the number of people participating, their names and their lap times. I really enjoy seeing that some drivers have visited the sim centers and ran qualifying sessions frequently and their lap times reflect the seat time they are putting in. I think it's truly fantastic to be able to see the progression of so many people and their dedication to their racing craft in these venues. One stat I found interesting is on our website. From August 14th (When I plugged in analytics) till today our website shows 1.6k New Users, 31,053 Event Counts and 7.7k people visiting our leaderboard alone. Maybe it's getting time to sell the branding rights to these events, I was going to wait till after our last beta race coming up next month, but might be some great value for brands looking to target a 98% male with a wide age range of 16yrs-54yrs and a peak of 25yrs old. 1.6k unique visitors and 31k events isn't bad frequency of visits. As this scales and the number of unique visitors increases, we will have 6-figure event stats within a few short months. So the question is, "Who wants to get in the game?"

What Is the Kentucky Derby? The Kentucky Derby is a competitive race for three-year-old Thoroughbred horses and is part of the Triple Crown. 20 horses compete for prize money on a 2.01 km (1.25 miles) dirt track. Geldings and colts are required to carry 57 kg (126lb) and fillies 55 kg (121lb) while running the race. A gelding is a castrated male horse, a colt is a young male horse, while a filly is a young female horse. To qualify, horses compete in 35 races around the world. The top four horses in each of these races are given points. 20 horses with the most points qualify for the Kentucky Derby. To win the Triple Crown, a horse has to win the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes, and the Belmont Stakes. So far, only 12 horses have won the Triple Crown.
