In today's world, reputation plays a significant role in a company's success. If a company becomes known for unfair practices and noncompliance, it can damage its brand image and make it more difficult to attract talent, customers, and investors. If you just rejected a top candidate due to unconscious bias, forget the candidate; you just lost the talent pool (and the Internet). Can a bad hire decision due to unconscious bias cost you more than just the talent and turn into a PR nightmare? Does rejecting a top candidate due to bias cost you more than just talent? Yes, is the answer to all the above questions. Do you think losing one candidate hurts? Try losing the entire talent pool (and your reputation). So, the time to act is now. Consult with experts to review your policies and practices. Upskill your managers on fair employment. Be ready for the new era of workplace fairness. Let's build a more equitable employment ecosystem in Singapore together. Embrace fairness, it's not just legal, it's smart! #WorkplaceFairness #WorkplaceFairnessLegislation #WorkplaceFairnessLegislation #Singapore #Compliance #IMDA #MOMSingapore #TAFEPSingapore

This weekend, I witnessed an event in the UK that hasn't happened for 20 years! Here’s what it taught me about recruitment Nothing. Absolutely nothing. This experience has taught us that sometimes, we need to step back and take a break from our work to gain new perspectives. So, take some time to rest and recharge, and come back to work with a fresh mindset. Remember, the best ideas often come when we least expect them. #Recruitment #Perspective #RestAndRecharge

There are plenty of great opportunities in The City, but overall, it is less of a candidate's market now. However, in terms of learning and development, employees are in a strong position. Companies are realising that the emphasis is not on what employees can do for them but on what they can do for their employees. Staff are looking for a combination of personal and professional learning that goes well beyond the requirements of the current role. This becomes an increasingly important factor in attraction and retention. #careerplanning #personaldevelopment #cpd #recruitment #executivesearch https://lnkd.in/eRXj-TgU

Why should employees always be the ones to adapt? In today’s rapidly changing work environment, we’re constantly told to be agile and adaptable. But let’s take a moment to ask the tough question: Why is the burden of misalignment always placed on the employees? The recent article by The Straits Times, "What to do when a job is not what it says on the tin," is a wake-up call. It highlights how often job roles diverge from initial expectations due to miscommunication and structural changes. Yet, it mainly advises workers to manage these discrepancies by adapting and adjusting their expectations. Is this fair? Shouldn’t companies be held accountable too? 👉 Employers need to step up their game in providing clear, honest job descriptions and consistent communication. It’s not just about finding the right talent but also about retaining them through transparent and supportive practices. 💡 What if companies focused more on aligning job roles with employee expectations from the start? What if they provided regular updates and feedback, ensuring employees felt valued and understood? Let’s challenge the status quo! It’s time for employers to take responsibility and for us to demand better. The future of work shouldn’t just be about adapting to survive but thriving in a well-communicated and supportive environment. What are your thoughts? Have you faced a similar issue where your job wasn’t what you signed up for? How did you handle it? 🗣️ #WorkplaceCulture #EmployeeRights #CareerDevelopment
