SUMC created the National Shared Mobility Summit a decade ago in response to new shared mobility modes and the growing shared mobility industry. The mobility landscape has evolved since then. In response, we consider it our responsibility to reimagine and adapt how we convene. We bring shared mobility practitioners and researchers together to make our communities more equitable, sustainable, and accessible. So, we are reimagining the best way to convene changemakers. How can we give you better value as travel budgets get tighter? How can we make the experience more meaningful, relevant, and accessible? A lot has changed in the mobility industry and mobility conference space since SUMC launched our annual National Shared Mobility Summit. That’s why we’re reimagining our annual Summit–to ensure our events and convenings are as valuable as the first time we brought the sector together. AndNowWhat and the Equinox Collective attended last year’s r3.0 conference in Amsterdam: it was mind blowing! Unfortunately for us, this year’s r3.0 (Redesign for Resilience and Regeneration) conference is online only. The theme — Tipping points on tipping points - Building necessary collapse resilience — is super-relevant in the face of the ongoing collapse of human and ecological systems. As challenging and urgent as its content may be, it also holds invigorating calls and potentials to act. As this year’s theme is so close to the core of our respective callings / charters, we will most certainly be joining them on September 10/11 — though we wished we could be with others. Here’s WHY we feel the need to gather: Times are urgent, let us slow down Dr. Bayo Akomolafe If you are willing to really let the implications of collapse sink in—and to ponder what it would take to properly integrate what you might learn into your life, work and communities—then you will probably benefit from sharing your experiences and insights with supportive others. So here’s WHAT WE PROPOSE: Our team will generously host a limited number of registered conference participants. We bring our experience and skills to frame the r3.0 content we watch, make sense of it, consider the implications, and process it together in a beautiful setting. We aim to connect similarly-concerned, like-minded people from multiple walks of life. The themes of trust, strategy, and the future took center stage during the amazing and inspiring days at PCMA Convening EMEA and the first-ever Convene4Climate Conference - an initiative by SANCBE (Strategic Alliance of National Convention Bureaus of Europe) and PCMA to take action on climate! 🌍 Key takeaways from PCMA Convening EMEA • 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝘆 – It was a fantastic time for active participation and teamwork. • 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 – The interactive program and workshops were packed with great and inspiring insights for our daily work • 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗻 – It was incredible to connect with colleagues from around the globe.
