Here's what you need to know about Internal Complaints Committees: - Purpose: ICCs provide a safe and confidential space for women to report sexual harassment at work. - Composition: The committee should include a presiding officer (a senior woman) and at least two other members from among the employees. The Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Annapurna Devi, has unveiled the SHe-Box portal, a significant initiative aimed at improving workplace safety for women. This centralized platform will streamline the process of registering and addressing complaints related to sexual harassment at workplaces. The SHe-Box portal offers a unified space for women to file complaints, track their status, and receive prompt resolution from designated authorities. It introduces two types of committees for handling these issues: an internal committee (IC) for private institutions and a local committee (LC) for government institutions, chaired by the District Magistrate or District Collector.
