The "Fast" growing digital agencies in our study had average lifetime client revenues that were 25% higher than the "Slow" ones. Not sure if this'll end up making it to the final report (the Promethean cutting room floor is covered in this kind of stuff), but I thought it was interesting. It's weirdly not due to the Fast ones having larger project sizes because the Fast ones actually had lower typical project sizes. So, if it's not larger deals, the only thing left is client tenure. I've seen this in older survey work, it's simply easier to grow faster if you're better at client retention. There's been a lot of data lately that's pointing directly at the Account Management function. Differences in sophistication here can help explain a TON of variance in agency growth. #HowISpentMySaturday
