It's #TBT! In April, Toho was excited to support the Stroll for Scholarships, hosted by the Kissimmee Kiwanis. We provided our water coolers for the event which kept all of the runners and walkers hydrated. Hydration is important. Organizations can request water coolers from Toho at https://ow.ly/8YYP50RuU0G. #TrustTohoCares

It’s the end of year and time to give! I need at least 50 business or giving people to consider donating $1,000 or more each to help build a school for my Maa Eagles girls! These girls come from villages where they are traditionally married off at very young ages for cattle and goat. As primary agricultural workers and water gatherers they endure some of the harshest impacts of climate change, causing them to walk further for water sources which puts them at risk for heat related illnesses and predatory violence. Maa Eagles sends these girls to school to become educated and reposition their futures. Right now we have 30 girls in primary school and 30 in secondary school. We graduated 12 girls from college last year. The girls are in private schools, which is very expensive. We’d like to build a school to allow more girls to attend, be closer to their families and villages, and give them a tailored experience that allows for optimal learning. We need help. Please consider giving. It’s tax deductible! https://lnkd.in/gxg5qsH4

Member, Global Advocacy Advisory Committee, IIA Global; Former CEO, The Institute of Internal Auditors-India (IIA India),
THE MEASURE OF A PIONEER Sudhanshu & I were at KPMG India, he was a subject matter person in IT risks had reached the level of a Senior Manager ( two levels away from a Partner) and had a great career ahead at the firm. The year was probably 2010 where encouraging & advocating sports to school children was not something seen as a profession. So you can imagine my surprise when Sudhanshu said to me that he was leaving a career in IT Risk Management at a top global firm to pursue advocating sports in schools. With zero funding see below what he accomplished in these 15 years - 150,000 children impacted . What Sudhanshu has done is described in the last para of the poem " The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost, which I quote below "...I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.." By travelling the road less travelled he gave up a lot but the difference he has made is captured in that poem for eternity. Truly a karamyogi, and my salute to his courage and single minder focus. Today many are doing well, also new things are being done. At times clients share with me their achievements and aspire to be seen as a pioneer status in their industry segment, so what is the measure ? This story is an example of a measure of a pioneer.

The Unimas Credited Co-curriculum for our Dodgeball group hosted a Basic Dodgeball Clinic and Mini Competition at SK St Francis Xavier, Kg Seratau, Padawan on June 8, 2024. The Sarawak Dodgeball Association (SDAS) and this project collaborate on SDG 16 and SDG 17. 88 students in Years 5 and 6 took part in this initiative in total. The goal of this initiative was to give village primary school students the chance to study and play dodgeball, regardless of their gender, colour, or religion (SDG5 & SDG10). In addition, they can promote healthy living and good sportsmanship (SDG 3). In line with the KPT Prihatin Madani, Student for Society and Knowledge Transfer Programme @ Community Initiatives, my friends and I engaged and interacted with the local community during the project to impart dodgeball knowledge and skills to the youngsters. My friends and I have learned about the value of volunteers as a result of this endeavour. Through experience, I am able to improve my social skills when interacting with students from diverse generations. In terms of knowledge, I gain an understanding of proper dodgeball technique and develop useful methods that I can teach children. In terms of abilities, I get to hone my interpersonal and teamwork abilities. Positive effects of this endeavour are also seen in the community and school. The school and higher education institutions are now connected. Along with learning a new sport, the school is encouraged to teach dodgeball on a regular basis. Regarding the community component, I can see how this project will allow parents, instructors, lecturers, and students to collaborate and socialise. This demonstrates how the sense of community was strengthened. In the future, I want to see more projects of a similar nature. I think it affects everyone involved, especially the community, in a number of ways. I am appreciative of the chance I have been given to learn and grow. I anticipate working on more significant projects in the future.
