Bid Coach 🦊 15+ years of helping SMEs win bids & tenders 🥇 Learn Bid Skills to win more contracts | Bid Support | Bid Training | Bid Writing | Bid Review | Bid Development I Tender Troubleshooting
SOCIAL VALUE SYNCHRONICITY 🔁 Nearly all tenders now include questions around social value, which aim to understand how the bidding organisation adds value to the communities in which they operate. Buyers want to work with a supplier who shares their values and which is committed to creating positive local impacts, as well as being able to deliver their project successfully. Social value can include economic, environmental and social factors and often includes a broader recognition of the impact/s that the procurement itself may have in society. SMS Group | Ship Repair | Marine Interiors | Marine Engineering | SC SQEP is evidencing their commitment to social value through a variety of projects, and I'm delighted to be supporting their initiative to engage with, and upskill, their local supply chain. My Bid Skills Workshops will help specialist suppliers and contractors bid for work with SMS Group, and support their delivery of a significant pipeline of works at Devonport Dockyard, for Babcock. My workshops will include content on how bidders can demonstrate social value in their bids for SMS Group, creating some lovely synchronicity around this project. ➡️ Please DM me to register your interest in attending the SMS Bid Skills workshops. #bidwriting #bidskills #socialvalue #plymouth #devon #tenders

Strategic advisor at Sajeimpact. Former MP for Loughborough. Chair - Leics Business and Skills Partnership Business Board - Dir. Sports Think Tank. Chair - Sport for Development Coalition. Chair - Active Together
This is another important step in the right direction for tackling inequalities in places across the country. The need is always going to be bigger than the budget for Sport England but by creating local system change in these communities and working with non traditional partners will shift the dial. It will need risks to be taken, new partners brought on board and as others have said an end to bidding culture and the egos and logos put to grass! It will probably be a bumpy road but it is worth the risks involved.
Over the next five years we will invest £250m of National Lottery and Government funding in up to 100 new places across England where inequality is greatest 📢 This major and significant financial commitment builds directly on the learning generated by our Local Delivery Pilots and is central to our Uniting The Movement strategy. It will see Sport England continue to partner with a network of the existing 12 Place Partners and 43 Active Partnerships to overcome the specific barriers to activity that exist in their communities. Herein lies a serious problem 🚨 The misconception that #affordablehousing is the same concept as #socialhousing is flatly wrong, and yet very few seem to realise that. The NSW Government is taking the floor at every opportunity to push for more affordable housing (which it should be), and yet there is no government supported marketing campaign to explain to those in the community the difference between affordable vs social housing, which leads to situations such as that described in this news article. 💡 Wouldn't this education create a significant difference for planning proposals to move through the system without additional delays due to misguided community opposition? For those that aren't clear, this definition is from the NSW Government Website: 1️⃣ Affordable Housing is housing that has been developed with some assistance from the NSW and/or Commonwealth Governments and that is appropriate for the needs of a range of very low to moderate income households and priced so that these households are also able to meet other basic living costs such as food, clothing, transport, medical care and education. As a rule of thumb, housing is usually considered affordable if it costs less than 30% of gross household income. 2️⃣ People described as being on a very low income are those earning less than 50% of the NSW or Sydney median income, depending on where they live. They include workers in a range of lower paid occupations, particularly in areas such as retail or manufacturing, as well as people earning the minimum wage or who are on an aged or disability pension or other government benefit. 3️⃣ The median Australian employee earned $65,000 in 2022, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. #educationiskey #nsw #development Alexandria affordable housing development devalues properties: neighbours (smh.com.au)
