While preorders are critical, anytime a friend has a book come out I prefer to get it IN the store that day to: 1) ensure some launch day foot traffic to show demand 2) tell the staff they're either low on inventory or (in this case!) SOLD OUT and clearly need to reorder fast! 3) make the store aware of the title if they never stocked it Today was pub day for these 3 titles, all of which I now happily have in my apartment and can't wait to dig into: - Daisy Auger-Domínguez Burnt Out To Lit Up - Adriana Carrig The Power Of Little Words - Terry Szuplat Say It Well I'm lucky enough to be attending book talks for all three so posts about each will likely follow... And for now, highly recommend following each of these authors (and all around incredible humans!) as you'll see some of their posts about their books and more. And if like me you're hoping to write your own non-fiction masterpiece, one more related launch from today: Fran Hauser and Bethany Saltman, cohosts of the insightful BookBound podcast, launched their substack today. Five is a magic number! - five fingers, starfish have five arms, and we have lived Rebel Legal for five years. So what five things have we learned? 1. Patience We’ve learned to be patient with ourselves and each other, embracing the journey of continuous growth and improvement. 2. Resilience We've understood that failure is part of the process and that we won't always get things right the first time. 3. Trust We’ve trust each other to deliver exceptional work and to be operationally exceptional. We have earned the trust of our clients in return. 4. Joy We’ve found joy in our work, our relationships and our journey. 5.      Gratitude We never take this for granted.     It does not get better than this – a team of inspiring professionals, and clients doing exceptional things.

Never when we sat down for that coffee all those years ago did I think we would end up here. Very proud of all that we have achieved over the past two years, the incredible team we have and the wonderful group of clients we have built. Smartest, most genuine, hardworking bloke there is. Honour and privledge to learn and spend majority of most days with you! Could write a list as long as the Nile about what I’ve learnt from JB, here’s 5 points that first come to mind; 1. Listen, listen more, take notes, summarise in writing, engage any expert you can to upskill and better understand the problem, turn the world over to find the most powerful solution. 2. If you find yourself with a few spare minutes having finished a meeting early, driving or walking to lunch, spend this time calling your team members to check in, this will be invaluable to both you and them. 3. No matter how busy you are, always make the time to stay connected and engaged with your network, a quick text is all it takes. 4. Respect and celebrate the achievements of our peers, their success makes us better and drives us forward as an industry. The quote I love from JB most is, “there’s enough clients out there for everyone.” 5. Always remember, we aren’t saving lives. Your family and your health always come first. One of a kind JB.
