Starting a new team or company?
I’ve always been the person to do things right from the beginning, not duct tape it and hope it works with the intent to “figure it out later” (which, let’s be honest, never happens unless and until you have a major issue).
There’s so much uncertainty out there in tech and especially the gaming industry right now.
And yet, there’s reason for hope: dozens, if not hundreds (maybe thousands?) of new studios are springing up. From the ashes of the terrible past 15 months, great teams and great games are going to get built, and that's exciting!
But there’s one thing you absolutely, positively have to get right if you’re starting a new team…
And that’s building out a sustainable company, with intentional organizational design.
We're all standing at the precipice of breaking the cycle of attrition in games and tech – and we really, truly can do it.
*If* we start these new studios on the best foot possible.
And that’s where I help. One team at a time, we can do this right and break the cycle.
If you’re starting a team, thinking about starting a team, or already have started a team and are committed to making it sustainable, let’s connect. I absolutely love helping make great workplaces and sustainable cultures. I have a decade-plus of experience building great teams and world-class work environments in and out of games. This is my life's work - making work not suck!
If you can pay, great – I’m a consultant and will absolutely take money (hey, we all have bills!).
If you can’t pay, no worries – let’s still connect and see if I can help anyway.
Because I was there too. In March 2020, just days after buying our first home, I was laid off – with only a couple hundred bucks as my whole financial outlook. (Imagine not being able to make your first mortgage payment.)
I know the pain. I’ve been there.
So let’s do it right. To everyone taking the leap and starting something new: Let’s build great, sustainable teams. This is your sign to reach out.
