3 Key Traits You Need in Your Candidates to Build an A-Class Finance Team
With the finance and accounting talent shortage at hand, it is becoming more and more difficult to find top talent, but if you don’t even know what you’re looking for, this is a good place to start.
1. Skills:
How closely does a candidate’s experience align with the position? The closer the alignment, the higher probability for success.
2. Character:
Integrity, Drive, Resiliency, Adaptability, Humility, Curiosity, Collaboration, Intellectual Capacity, and Emotional Intelligence. The best talent will exhibit these character traits.
3. Culture Fit:
Consider their standards for communication – like email response times, and their views on meeting deadlines. There are no right or wrong answers, but alignment with your company’s culture is key.
Building a high-performing team is tough, but knowing what to look for makes identifying and prioritizing A-players during the hiring and onboarding process easier.
