Getting the most out of L&D events and conferences, like #LT24UK, is not always easy. Luckily, Paula Hughes has written this deep dive into preparation, action, and reflection to ensure you get as much value as possible from every event you attend. In the article, Paula references some great resources, including: Donald H Taylor's Global Sentiment Survey, Robin Hoyle's Annual L&D Trends article, and David Kelly's Curated Content As expansive as this advice is, everyone has their own approach to conferences. What top tips would you share with those heading to London this week or to any other events this year? #LearningAndDevelopment #Conference #Exhibition #Community #Networking
My top tip is be kind to yourself! Last year was my first Learning Technologies Exhibition & Conference and I was so keen I tried to attend too many sessions - I had an amazing time but was exhausted by the end. This year I plan to take more time to explore the exhibition and try and network a bit more.
Thanks for the mention of my curated content posts - I’m glad to hear they are of value.

6moMy sense is that the connections you make are where the value is. Meaningful connections that have the potential to form into relationships (vs. superficial LinkedIn “Follows”) people move throughout the industry and relationships are everything - so focus more on the people and less on the sensational new tech or ideas - and you’ve more than gotten the value you came for!
