🎭 Client expects free work?! 😲 This post is a bit different for LinkedIn – it's playful. But that’s okay! Being professional doesn’t mean you can't have fun. This goofy reel parodies a consultation call where a 'client' reveals they want to pay in exposure. I’ve seen many artists "vent" (pun on my former career ...) about clients not respecting their work, demanding max effort for minimal pay. While I get the frustration, griping can turn off potential clients who check our social profiles. So what I'm sharing here is more than a goofy reel, but a message: Artists: Know your value and remember, not all clients are the right fit. And to businesses: Get to know the artist you are considering, because - Successful creative projects thrive when the team, including contractors, shares a vision and works well together. #teamwork #artists #productphotographer #marketing

Lotsa directors, LPs, Art Directors, Stylists keep hollering for meetups 🤙, but meetings are a straight-up time suck ⏳. Half the day gone, poof 💨. We'd rather grind and get more work 💪. And guess what, that work can come to you! 📈 Don't get it twisted though, not meeting doesn't mean we ain't checking your work 👀. We're always on the lookout for dope directors, our database is popping 📚. We've shot big-budget films and only met the director after winning the job 🎥💸. Now, you might be like, "But meetings help me vibe with the person I'm working with" 🤔. Here's the thing: we've gone into shoots knowing the director's a total asshole 😈. Why? 'Cause the agency loves 'em and we can make bank 💵. So, what do you do to stay on our radar? 📡 Keep sharing your work 📬. Call if you wanna chat 📞. And the time you save not meeting us, use it to hype yourself on social media 📲 or call a few Creative Directors who actually make the decisions. #directors #protip #filmproduction #adfilm #hustling #agencylife #creative #advertising #filmmaking #filmmaker #scriptwriting

Social Media Specialist| Driving Growth, Engagement, and Client Satisfaction Through Social Media Management and Content Creation
As an artist, my work process has always been different from those around me. I spent years trying to conform to the norm until I met others like me - video editors, photographers, painters, models, storytellers, writers, film directors, social media creators, bloggers, actors, dancers, gallery owners, art curators, and the list goes on. There are so many people out there who function differently, who have their own unique approaches and processes. I realized that what I considered to be my weaknesses were actually my biggest strengths. My attention to detail, my visual perception of tasks, my heightened sense of human needs and wants, my hyper focus, and my non-linear way of thinking. Everything I tried to change became something I proudly speak about in interviews and share on my social media platforms. The important lesson I've learned is to take a closer look at the things we were told to change, revisit them, and realize that they may be a part of us for a reason. Embrace your differences and let them shine through in your work. #EmbraceYourDifferences #UniqueApproach #Strengths #ArtistsOfLinkedIn

They say the best way to rest is to try something new. This week, I decided to take a break from monetization models, mockups, and interviews and joined Alina Krupenina from the Wed Vibes team to scout a potential venue for a photoshoot. It was an amazing experience! Joining someone else’s work routine for a day made it feel fresh, interesting, and exciting. I remember the team at Emma – The Sleep Company offers this regularly—when team members can work in another department for a week. I love learning new things and can imagine how refreshing it is. Yesterday, I explored a beautiful 1930s venue, learned how to organize a high-end photoshoot, and managed to reboot. It's incredible how a change of scenery can spark new energy and ideas. How do you like to break from your routine and try something new? Share your experiences in the comments! #product #marketing #media #worklife #learning

Videographers, do you ever feel like no matter what you do you can't seem to get brands to notice you? 🕵️♂️✉️ It’s likely not you—it’s most likely your approach. I’ve tried everything from cold emails to Facebook ads, and here’s what really works—treating client outreach like dating: 💡 Dress to Impress: First impressions count. Make your business outreach as polished as your best first date outfit. 💡 Build Trust: Just like in a relationship, trust in business builds over time. Be that reliable partner who delivers consistently. 💡 Invest Quality Time: Engage deeply and regularly. Show that your interest goes beyond just making a sale aka reach out more than once and don't just use a templated response haha. 🤝 After all, we all prefer to work with friends, not strangers. We all typcially hire those who we what... Who we know, we like, and we trust. Want to know how to become that "trusted friend" to high-ticket clients? Here’s how I do it: 🚀 Social Butterfly Strategy: Follow, engage, and warmly slide into their DMs. 🚀 Insight Ask: Find out their biggest challenges—it's your in. 🚀 Follow-Up Marathon: Remember, it often takes 8 interactions just to get a response so don't give up if they ghost you on the first few follow-ups. 🚀 Voice Memo Magic: Break the ice with personalized voice notes. 🚀 Video Introductions: Stand out by showing your passion and uniqueness through introudcing yourself and your offering via video. 🔥 SAVE this blueprint and SHARE if you've found it helpful! Let’s build those meaningful connections! #filmmaker #filmmaking #videographer #cinematic #cinematicvideo #cinematicreel #onset #setlife #contentcreatortips #shortfilm #cinematography #comedyskit #funnyvideo #relatablecontent #foryourpage #comedy

"Do NOT go into business with your best friend 💀" ... unless your bestie is Anna Hetzel, in which case: Damn the adages, full steam ahead! 🚢 Strange Birds grew by 100% when I hopped on back in August of last year. But Anna and I go waaaaay back. Like 15 YEARS back. Here's a shortlist of How We Make It Work: ➡️ Be intentional + explicit about how you mix friendship and work (e.g. #music channel in Slack) and how you don't (e.g. whatsapp voice msgs mixing client musings with life updates) ➡️ Don't assume you wholly know the other. When they do something "inexplicable," let curiosity drive you. ➡️ Find what's uniquely interesting about how you complement each other and lean (way, way) into it. ➡️ Put structures in place to make space on the regular for feelings, especially appreciation. ➡️ Be transparent + forthcoming about where your boundaries are. ➡️ Bring things up (way, way) before they become problems. ➡️ Be human first. Always. Most importantly: ✨ Put budget aside for an absurd photoshoot.

The next time when you’re filming any event, try to capturing these 3 main shots 🎥 ✅ Establishing Shots: These shots set the scene and give your audience a sense of location and environment. Think of it as the first impression of your event. It not only establishes the mood but also provides visual clues about the time and situation. Make sure to nail this shot to immerse your viewers in the experience right from the start. ✅ Mid Shots: These shots are all about showcasing the main characters or individuals at your event. Whether it's a panel discussion, a speaker, or a performer, a medium shot that captures them from the waist up is perfect. Widely used in films, this shot allows the audience to connect with the people involved, making them feel like they're part of the action. ✅ Extreme close-ups with Extreme Wide-Angle Lenses: When taking photos or filming videos of people, don't be afraid to try using a wide-angle lens to capture their emotions more authentically. This type of lens frames the subject very closely, often cutting off the outer portions of the subject by the edges of the frame. This technique is known as an extreme close-up shot and can add a unique and emotional perspective to your work. Remember, these shots work together to create a compelling narrative and engage your audience. So the next time you're filming an event, make sure to focus on these essential shots to take your videos to the next level! 🎬🌟 #videographytips #eventfilming #contentcreation
