I recently had an interview where I was told I was too qualified for the role, and they were concerned I might even get bored. It's always tough to receive even positive feedback like this, especially when you might not see it the same way. Here's how I handled it: - Expressed Gratitude: Sent a note of thanks to the hiring team for their feedback. - Reiterated Interest: Emphasized my excitement for the company. - Addressed Concerns: Highlighted how the company's culture fits my career goals and my eagerness to learn. - Invited Further Discussion: Opened the door for more dialogue any time. And guess what? They reached out this week with another potential role that matches my background even more closely. This is also the mark of a fantastic recruiter.
Thanks for this Tom. Your message hits close to home these days and you reminded me to always take the high road and build relationships for the future.
Great to hear there are some positives. Best wishes for the latest opportunity.

5moI love hearing this! You would make such an amazing impact to a team. It’s never easy providing feedback on the recruiting end. Recruiters will remember the candidates that remained diplomatic throughout the process. Fingers crossed for you. 🤞
