Zomato's Exploitation of Customer. It's deeply disturbing to see how #Zomato, a leading food delivery service, treats its customers with utter disdain and disrespect. Recently, the company has adopted an outrageously #unethical practice of charging the full order amount as a cancellation fee, even when the order is canceled within a minute of being placed. This policy is not just unfair—it’s a blatant money grab. #Zomato's excuse for this exploitation is that they aim to prevent food wastage. However, this reasoning falls apart upon closer examination. The incident in question involved a packaged food item from Natural Ice Cream, a product that wasn't even processed by #Zomato. The cancellation happened almost instantly, before any delivery personnel were assigned to pick up the order. Claiming that food wastage is the issue when the food was neither prepared nor dispatched is a flimsy justification at best. Such behavior from a corporation that prides itself on being customer-centric is #intolerable. #Zomato's actions reflect a total disregard for its moral duties towards customers. Instead of providing a fair and reasonable service, they choose to #exploit those who rely on their platform. Charging customers the entire order amount for cancellations made within moments of ordering is nothing short of #extortion. It’s clear that #Zomato #prioritizes #profit #over #principles. Their approach to cancellations reveals a willingness to exploit users rather than maintain a trustworthy and ethical business relationship. This isn't about covering costs—it's about squeezing money from customers without providing any value in return. #Zomato's stance on this issue is indefensible and highlights their #greed-driven strategy. As consumers, we must hold them accountable and demand better. It's time for Zomato to stop ignoring their moral obligations and start respecting the customers who have contributed to their success. Until then, their reputation will continue to suffer, and rightfully so. #extortion #unethical #fraud #exploitation #customerrights Zomato Deepinder Goyal

I appreciate your efforts Zomato Care for getting this resolved but this should not be the way to get your attention to our problems. You guys really need to make some changes around your customer care department. They need to provide more improvised solutions rather than just copy pasting the same response to every problem.

It's great to take such initiatives, as there are many among us who at some point in time have suffered because of such inhumane cancellation policy. We definitely have faith in this fast growing Brand, but going forward with such policies, don't see Zomato reaching anywhere. Its high time, Zomato should re-do its cancellation policy at least for the ready-to-eat food. Hope Zomato's valuable customer gets the justified resolution compensating for the trouble caused.

Exactly, for an item which happens to be a packed and readily available entity, charging the complete amount as a cancellation fee reasoning wastage of food and all is a completely unacceptable and unethical way of making money. Also, this makes me question my decision of being a shareholder of this company. I think I need to rethink my investments and be more careful with my investments from now on.
