The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas is an extraordinary event that serves as an annual focal point for technology enthusiasts and industry professionals alike. Over the past few decades , I have attended numerous times, closely following the latest tech trends and cutting edge innovations. Each year, this event draws more than 130,000 attendees, comprising tech enthusiasts, corporate leaders, and creative minds from around the world. The show is a treasure trove of technological wonders, showcasing everything from expansive ultra-high-definition televisions to robots straight out of science fiction. The event also serves as a vibrant playground for the latest in augmented and virtual reality, gaming, and drones. Not to be missed are the sleek electric vehicles that offer a tantalizing glimpse into the forthcoming era of transportation; I still remember being awestruck by the first full scale autonomous flying taxi a number of year ago. At CES 2024, the limelight undoubtedly belongs to Artificial Intelligence, which has become the driving force behind countless innovations. Companies are now weaving AI into the fabric of everyday products, from items like lamps and refrigerators to more sophisticated applications like autonomous robots. AI, far from being a monolithic concept, showcases its versatility with generative AI, as exemplified by ChatGPT. This transformative force carries the promise of enormous economic potential, attracting substantial investments from tech giants like Google and Microsoft. The chorus of voices championing AI at CES 2024 extends beyond the usual tech heavyweights, including prominent players like Walmart, L'Oreal, and Volkswagen. The prevalence of generative AI in smartphones and PCs is poised to become the new norm. Yet, AI's impact transcends mere technological evolution; it offers a richer, more interactive, and conversational experience. Take, for instance, the upcoming ChatGPT-powered Volkswagen ID 7, which enables users to engage in complex, multi-step queries, elevating user interactions to a new level of sophistication. AI is being harnessed to enhance shopping experiences and even revolutionize healthcare, as underscored by Intel's CEO Pat Gelsinger, who likens it to an indispensable tool in our technological evolution. What has really stood out for me this year is the number of AI hardware devices - check out Rabbit: https://lnkd.in/ghNnKrRG I believe devices like Humane & Rabbit are about to usher in a new era of AI assistants. #ai #ces2024

In the first part of today's show, we delved into the surprising revelation that Amazon's futuristic grocery stores, designed for customers to simply walk out with their purchases without checking out, was not as AI-driven as previously thought. Instead, it was powered by a staggering 1,000 human contractors. Then, we explored the cutting-edge development of a new brain cap that allows users to control video games using nothing but their mind. An innovation that promises to revolutionize how we interact with digital worlds. Lastly, we discussed a significant milestone in quantum computing claimed by Microsoft and Quantinuum, marking a potential paradigm shift in computational power and capabilities. Today's unpopular opinion stirred the pot with the claim that classical music isn't inherently superior to other music genres. In the show's second half, we asked 100 humans to name a genre of music, leading to an eclectic and surprising array of answers. We also covered the brewing discontent among Air France pilots, who are threatening to strike in opposition to a proposed strike ban, a move that could severely impact air travel. In the first part of today's show, we unpacked the controversy surrounding Disney Parks, now officially deemed the "Biggest Rip-Off in America." Then we dove into how Klarna's new AI assistant is replacing human jobs, effectively doing the work of 700 employees after the company laid them off. Finally, we explored the recent criticisms faced by Elon Musk's Neuralink, especially regarding transparency issues after the billionaire announced the success of the first brain implant. Today's unpopular opinion stirred up quite the debate: "Video games offer better storytelling than most modern movies." In the show's second half, we turned to our 100 humans to name something essential for a successful Hollywood movie. The responses might surprise you! Additionally, we looked at McDonald’s latest venture: an anime dining experience set to open in West Hollywood. The ProBoh Show is a variety show in English, hosted by Rob Grams.
