CEO & President @ Richard Group #purposebuilder | Midwest Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 | Best Places to Work 2024 | Fastest Growing Company 2024 | #constructiontitan
It’s Monday so remember to honor and recognize our hardworking construction field management and craft teams in our organizations. They are the backbone of our industry and deserve our celebration when we succeed. While overcoming challenges and navigating various communication protocols, let's not forget to embrace the tangible progress of building. Remember: 1. Incorporate project milestones into the project management plan and celebrate their successful completion. 2. Establish meaningful traditions in the field to shape the future of our growing organization. 3. Commend both team and individual accomplishments. A cohesive team draws inspiration from one another and propels each member to greater heights. 4. Organize field promotion ceremonies filled with joy, camaraderie, and genuine emotions. Invite friends, family, and mentors to join the celebrations. Each promotion is a significant milestone in our careers and deserves to be celebrated grandly. Let's also ensure that the efforts of our project management teams, who tirelessly promote the glory of our buildings across the country, receive the recognition they deserve. Inspiring leadership by Justin Garza, MBA, and Gordon Berry leading our South Dakota team on a project that will bring patients Electronic Medical Records through building a hospital stand-alone data center and subsequent telecommunication rooms. #constructiontitan #purposebuilders #projectmanagement #construction #designbuild #projectmanager #superintendent #qualitycontrolmanager #ssho #projectengineer #scheduler #teams #celebration #hiring #careers

#EmployeeSpotlight Meet: Julia Dietsch, PE, PMP Position: Project Manager Education: BS - Texas A&M University, Central Texas; MCE - North Carolina State University; PE - Texas; PMP - Project Management Institute Why Did You Choose FHWA Central Federal Lands: I wanted to feel like I was making a positive impact. Improving the safety of a winding #forest road is much more rewarding to me than adding another lane to an interstate. What Is the Most Rewarding Part of CFLHD? Getting to work in so many unique places with a diverse group of stakeholders and seeing projects really make a difference to the community. Briefly Describe Your Favorite Project: My favorite program to work through is the Federal Lands Access Program (FLAP), it presents a unique #opportunity to work with other Federal Land Management Agencies and Local Governments to improve access to #FederalLands. I've found incredible partnership with FLAP projects, where everyone pitches in to solve the unique problems that can come up when working in more #remote areas. Giving You Peace of Mind by Providing Advocacy and Solutions over BS | Try our newsletter - twice a month everything retail construction
In retail construction, understanding site supers is crucial. Having managed sites globally, I've seen it all. What's the key? Knowing their challenges and, yes, their excuses. It's about discerning reality from fiction. And having zero tolerance for shortcuts. I've been in their shoes. I've faced those dilemmas. That's why I can spot a corner being cut a mile away. Common mistake 👉 not challenging subs enough. Make those calls. Ask the tough questions. It's about follow-through. In retail construction, the devil's in the details. As a project manager, it's our job to catch those devils before they wreak havoc. — I help GCs and architects create beautiful commercial spaces without all the stress. Follow me and ring my 🔔

When we’re young, we often think speaking up makes us upstarts. Who are we to point out something that is wrong? But maybe we have it around the wrong way… Who are we not to? Speaking up and voicing your opinion is key to a successful career in construction. A building site is no place for shrinking violets, as a Project Manager told me recently. But it’s also no place for people who don’t want to be part of the team. So here’s how you do it. Spend time building and fostering relationships. Then, when you need to, speak up about what you think. The two things go hand in hand in the most successful Project Coordinators (and Project Managers!) in construction.

Technical Project Manager | Servant Leader Empowering teams | Agile -Scrum| Java AWS | Transformational Leader | Solution Architect
The Engineering Manager.. 🥅 Few days back my technical lead called me a PM or a project manager, I held back and said no, I am not a project manager but rather an Engineering Manager. This caught me thinking, what's the difference between an engineering manager and a project manager. Engineering manager is of course a project manager, but way beyond a project manager. There are more opportunities and capabilities when you consider yourself as an engineering manager over a project manager. There is an engineering aspect to than just managing the team and scheduling and coordination. You have to contribute towards solutions and help your team technically. When you are from an engineering background you definitely know the pain of your team, so you will be able to reason with your client to help protect ur team, which not every project manager will be able to do. I was a pure technical person and never once wanted to become a Manager let alone Engineering Manager. I was shy and scared to speak to people, even my own manager and my team. My whole attitude towards Engineering Management changed because of two experiences during my tenure of being EM for the first time. First, when one of my team Ashwin Deepu CS told me that I am one of the reasons that he thrives in the team. This struck me and it changed my whole perspective of being a manager. Second, at one of the goals and objectives discussion session with my manager and my mentor Shama Hamid, who breathed into me, that as a manager your first goals should be to think about how you can make your team look good and help them achieve their goals. Maybe these are known facts to the thousands of Managers around the globe, but I wanted to put this down as these incidents touched my heart and my inner self changed from that point. I became an Engineering Manager for a reason, not because of the love for management but because of the love for the people around me. To know the people around me. To empathize with them and ensure they have a good working environment and a good work life balance. To stand by them and help them thrive in their career and aspirations. Engineering Manager is an amazing role which I have fallen in love with. #EngineeringManager #firstpost #Goals
