As more people return to the office, weather’s impact on daily commutes is impossible to ignore. 🚗🌧️ Michael Huguet, Lead Meteorologist at Tomorrow.io, shares how his role has reshaped his understanding of weather’s effect on everyday life. While working from home means he avoids weather disruptions like ice storms and thunderstorms, Michael helps departments of transportation understand road conditions and mitigate risks for commuters. With so many hazards on the road, he’s become a strong advocate for flexible work options—especially when weather poses a real threat to safety. At Tomorrow.io, we empower businesses to make smarter decisions in the face of weather, keeping people and operations resilient, no matter what the forecast brings. #WeatherIntelligence #ClimateResilience #OperationalAdaptability #TomorrowIo #ResiliencePlatform #CommuterSafety

Our Tufts Cove site operators are working around the clock (literally) to remove carbon from the atmosphere, advancing ocean health and rebalancing the climate. Carbon removal is no easy feat— it requires constant innovation and improvement, as well as collaboration between industry, academia, and community. Not to mention, this is physically demanding work. Our Planeteers exemplify the resilience and focus needed to address this global challenge. So why are we sharing a picture of our whiteboard? Well, this whiteboard is both a tool for planning and a reminder of the larger picture. Used by each shift to schedule tasks and communicate with one another, it also captures the spirit of our mission— one that combines determination as well as a vision and a dream for a better future for generations to come. #carbonremoval #marinecarbonremoval #mcdr #oceanhealth

When you implement #CongestionPricing, you will need to weather the "valley of death" storm. But check out this more hopeful #transformation cycle analogy... While 'Expectations' (in grey) from this Bain & Company article - "trough of disillusionment" - matches up with the shape of the "valley of political death" characteristic of implementing #MobilityPricing, I think we should borrow the other terms from the graphic as well. When it comes to 'Reality' (in red), pricing vehicle travel in our cities will lead us to a - "Slope of Enlightenment" - and ultimately to our #mobility utopia - to the - "Plateau of Productivity" - in how we allocate our #roadspace to serve #people choosing all types of modes most efficiently. https://lnkd.in/deqhTCsZ So next time you have a challenging conversation with an #ElectedOfficial about the concept of #TransportPricing, show them 'Expectations' don't match 'Reality.' Woo them to provide courageous leadership in pricing our #public streets by showing them they will be champions of #mobility productivity! Do you prefer emphasizing the 'Slope of Enlightenment' over the 'Valley of Death'? Anyone else feel like they were driving through nuclear fallout on the way to work today? That, ladies and gentlemen, is called inversion. The accursed meteorological event plaguing Utah Valley, where a layer of warm air sits on top of a layer of cold air, trapping all pollutants close to the ground rather than letting them disperse into the atmosphere. We put a man on the moon (in theory) years ago. There has got to be a technology out there to clean the air we breathe. You know what else is similar to the air of the valley we live in? The culture we work in. When it's good, you can see the mountains, the lake, and all is well in Happy Valley. When it's bad, your vision is so diminished that you can't see any of the landmark features that make living here worthwhile, and you question if going for a run outside is even healthy. Ongoing brand management is my obsession of the week. Keep that brand tuned up and don't let the culture of your workplace fill with smog. Your brand is not just the logo; it's the environment your employees work in and that your clients enter when doing business with you. If that environment is starting to look like Chernobyl, shoot me a DM. We specialize in clearing the smog and turning your brand back into something to brag about. #BrandManagement #WorkCulture #AirQuality #HappyValley #Inversion #CleanAir #BusinessCulture #EmployeeWellbeing #ClientExperience #EnvironmentalAwareness #WorkplaceImprovement #BrandSuccess #HealthyWorkEnvironment

Innovative tech solutions are crucial for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, especially in transportation infrastructure like roads, railways, ports, and airports. Despite the commitments being made, we’re not making enough progress, and rising temperatures, fires, droughts, and severe weather are taking their toll. Transportation organizations are shifting from a pure focus on sustainability to Disaster Resiliency—preparing for, responding to, and recovering from climate events. I'm excited to share Boston Consulting Group (BCG)'s latest article, which highlights a use-case-driven approach for optimal tech solutions. By defining resilience, assessing gaps, and targeting specific solutions, transportation organizations can robustly prepare for climate challenges.
