If your life sciences manufacturing operation has problems, please call me; I and my team can and do fix those problems whether they are quality, technical, operational, compliance, cultural or all of the above. I have helped fix QMS and manufacturing operations subject to 3 FDA Consent Decrees, 8 Warning Letters, and many 483’s, so we definitely have the experience to help you too. Example 2: excellent solutions CAN be cheap if you know what you’re doing. Problem: a critical test instrument (a calorimeter) was giving dubious results because of an unstable baseline and insufficient sensitivity. My first solution: ask Engineering to design and make a custom temperature-controlled draft-free enclosure for the instrument. Their assessment: this can be done for $11,000; it will take 3 months. My assessment: that’s ridiculous. My next solution: borrow a pickup truck, go to Home Depot, buy a $200 chest freezer, put the $100,000 calorimeter in the $200 freezer and Voila! problem solved. The instrument’s sensitivity was improved by a factor of 10, baseline stability improved by 4x and the usable temperature range of the instrument was expanded to include room temperature, a critical temperature that was previously inaccessible. Conclusion: excellent solutions don’t have to be expensive and take months to implement. Highly effective solutions CAN be cheap, quick and easy IF you know what you’re doing.
