Recovering from a severe storm is never easy. In fact, for those directly impacted in the Big Bend region, it can be an extremely devastating, stressful, and traumatic event. To help those communities hardest hit by Hurricane Idalia, Florida Blue has announced an initial $100,000 donation to support relief and recovery efforts across the state of Florida. This initial investment will be split between the American Red Cross in Florida and Volunteer Florida's Disaster Fund. · $50,000 will be directed to the American Red Cross in Florida to help address immediate needs. · $50,000 will be directed to Volunteer Florida to address long-term recovery efforts. In addition to our initial donation, we have launched several resources to support the health and well-being of Floridians impacted by the storm – regardless of their insurance status. Such as: · No-cost, 24/7 virtual care visits · Toll-free 24/7 bilingual emotional support helpline · Help with community & social services Read more about our support for recovery efforts: https://lnkd.in/eJg85Eg3 If you are able, please consider donating to these organizations or others on the frontlines helping those in need. #Idalia #Recovery #Community #BigBend #Florida

Last night, we hosted an excellent business mixer at the Edison restaurant in Disney Springs to hear how Florida Blue and our GuideWell family of companies are striving to create a harmonized healthcare experience for our members and the many communities we serve. The evening was spent mingling and networking with local Central Florida business and community leaders, and hearing from an esteemed group of expert panelists comprised of Jay Groves, Executive Director of the Culinary Health Institute at 4Roots Farm, Nancy Edwards Molello, Executive Director of the Gingsburg Institute for Health Equity at Nemours, Glen R. Providence, Executive Director at Hebni Nutrition Consultants, Inc., and Mark Shamley, MBA, Vice President of Community Impact with Lift Orlando. I wish to thank each of them for their thoughtful conversations on how they work together to create impactful synergies and valuable partnerships to help make the harmonized healthcare experience, or as I like to say “humanized healthcare,” a reality. We still have work to do, but together we can make a difference in transforming the future of healthcare for all! #HarmonizedHealthcare #HumanizedHealthcare #CommunityPartnerships #CommunityHealth
