Senior Game Developer & Designer, Architect and Mentor of the Game Creator Accelerator, and Founder of Wulum Ltd.
Even if you get a job in the AAA Video Game Studio of your dreams, you know you are at peril. This is not under your control. The question is, what actions can you take to change this feeling? The most basic principle of happiness is finding a job that you feel passionate about and where you have the opportunity to be paid for. If you are in love with video games means that you can do your work for somebody else and for yourself, and this is a strength you need to learn how to use. I've been talking about this subject during the last weeks in different communities -including my students-. You need to do the extra thing nobody else will do. If passion is not the main source of your goal, then you need to find what it is. But if video games are the source of this inspiration, you're in luck. It doesn't matter if you are a Game Developer or a Game Designer, you need to know, work, and project two essential skills: The use of the best Technical Tool which is Unreal Engine -and believe me they are not paying me for saying this-, and Connection Presence. The first of the Skills will allow you to create multiple types of projects while having the ability to discover the ways to solve challenges you still don't know (yes, that's the name of the game). The second skill is about not only your expertise presence in social media but also your ability to establish a solid fan base and professional connections through your work. People do not pay much attention to Connection Presence, but if you ask me I think that both things have the same weight to create a solid career and not feel stressed by the changing market conditions outside of your control. During the last month, I've interviewed more than fifty amazing people who provided me with their perspectives about where they want to aim their video game career and the challenges the personal challenges they are confronting. This is the last week of this group of interviews and I want to know your perspective as well. Reserve a time to talk with me and give you more details about what I'm doing to create a solid career path. https://lnkd.in/gPYJeadb Best regards Tony #GameDevelopment #IndieGameDev #VideoGameIndustry #CareerInGames #GameDesign #GameDevJourney #LearnGameDev #GameDevCommunity #TechCareer #DigitalCreatives #BuildYourPortfolio #SocialMediaGrowth #CreativeIndustry #GameDevEducation #MarketResearch
