The session Carla, Christopher, and Ed and I will lead at the Association of Corporate Counsel Australia national conference will explore a very timely topic - navigating a cyber #crisis.
Recent related research from The Economist Impact - sponsored by FTI Consulting - has explored the evolving remit of the #GeneralCounsel in managing a corporate crisis.
Among their reflections on how prepared their organisations are to handle more frequent, severe and unpredictable situations, 60% of all General Counsels surveyed said they are more involved in their organization’s crisis management strategy than they were five years’ ago, due to the increasing frequency, complexity and unpredictability of crisis events.
During our session at the #ACC conference, I will be discussing the reputational impact of a #cyber crisis - a reputational crisis event is among the top three crises that 30% of General Counsels report their organisations are least prepared to manage.
More than two-thirds of organizations surveyed did not incorporate lessons from past crises into their future training and crisis drills, so our interactive #CrisisManagement session provides the best opportunity to learn from a simulated event (before, heaven forbid, the real thing happens).
